Hey guys, if anyone is interested. I have had this posted on the other site. Anyone who wants to come feel free.
Marietta, OH from May 18th-21st. It is centrally located and maybe we can get some of the Ontario and Chicago guys to come down along with the current group of attendees.
We would stay at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta. http://www.lafayettehotel.com/ There is a restaurant and lounge in the hotel, and several more places, like the Marietta Brewing Co., within a couple of blocks(ie.- walking distance) of the hotel. I have a group rate at the hotel.
For those who want to camp there is a Wayne National Forest campground close by(go to Washington County in the pull down list): http://www.appalachianohio.com/tourism/tour_details.aspx?ItemID=16&SubItemID=46
I found several loop rides out of Marietta in an article from RoadRunner Magazine, and I will post them a little later. I have ridden most of these roads, and you will not be disappointed. The loops cover both sides of the Ohio River and go on some of Ohio and West Virginia's best roads. WV 16, WV 20, OH 26, OH 800, and the "triple Nickel" OH 555 http://www.bmwmoa.org/rally/rally05/features/555_ride/555_ride.htm just to name a few. I am in the process of finalizing the loops, and should be able to post them soon.
BTW, there is a good BMW dealership about 35 miles away from the hotel. It is another great ride to that dealership(Holt BMW).
