Just saw the race schedule..thanks DJ.
July 21-23 for Laguna Seca....How many are planning on going?
I'm thinking I need to, I promised the wife I'd take the family to Oregon this summer so I'm thinking of getting back from Oregon, having the bike packed before I leave with the family and jamming up to CA as soon as I get back, I'll be about to wear out the I-5, but it looks like fun. Maybe leave Phoenix on the 18th or 19th and Iron butt it on out.

Roger, I'll be there, have a place to stay in Santa Cruz and will be working with the San Jose BMW effort or perhaps with the BMW effort in combo with SJBMW.

I'll be there. I've been to every Moto race at Laguna since the late 80's. It's a world class event. There are tricks to navigating the crowds and getting in/out of the vast Ft. Ord complex. Night life is fine in monterey, food is great and the deals on gear are incomparable at the huge vendor area. The only drag for me is the superslab ride from Soquel to Monterey, all of about 50 miles! last year my radar det. had gotten wet during a hasty bike wash, and I rode down unprotected. Yep, nailed by a Road Vampire. Shite! This year the Chamber of Commerce has gotten down on the rip off's done by many motel owners last year. In 2005, the win by Nicky Hayden and the second by The Texas Tornado with the fighter jets streaking across the sky above rendered thousands of American self styled psycho sport bike brutes into wet cheeked, blubbering children. Briefly. It was awesome!
The event has everything! Italian umbrella girls, tens of thousands of bikes parked everywhere, madness on Saturday night at Cannery Row, most of the major brands represented with bikes to try on and ogle to your heart's content, reasonable and good food, and on and on. If you're a dyed in the wool rider, this is the event to attend. I believe tix and rooms are still available, although I got mine last August. Highly recommended. Oh, on Saturday night at the Cannery Row 'bike chaos', there were a group of young hoons on trick painted Hayabusas, all with frame sliders, parked in unison, thrown on their sides, like general Custer did when fighting the natives. It was a spectacle, everywhere you looked. The camaraderie is most enchanting with perfect strangers enjoying frosty margaritas in the motel parking lots telling lies and spreading bullshite before walking to their chosen bar/restaurant for the evening's repast and debauchery. I cannot wait!

Was there last year...

And will most definitely be there again this year! Wouldn't miss it for the world.

Got my GA tickets, race tickets, pit and paddock passes, hotel room, etc., and I am working on some special parking passes. Be there all three days - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Pretty dang sure our own Arkline and his family will be there, too.

I'll be at the Monterey Plaza Hotel (as I think Arkline will be, too) with the GPT contingent, and it will my genuine pleasure to buy a round of drinks or two (or seven, or...) for any of our fellow peckerheads from here at the Cafe' !!!

Hell, I can't wait...

So how about, folks? What say we figure out a place to get together and meet up in person?

Cheers!

Oh, yes. The Donna, Alex and I are definitely there! Sunday is going to be extra special for me. We're taking a leisurely cruise down the coast and will be there Thursday night. Leaving Monday morning. In between, well it is close to heaven or what I imagine a heaven SHOULD be like.

Hoorah!
