View Full Version : A Slice of Bike Week 2011
It’s hard to capture the entirety of Bike week in photos. There is a sea of bikes on Main Street, Beach Street, the Speedway, Destination Daytona, and many other locations.
You can hear the noise, smell the exhaust fumes, and many times, smell burning rubber in the air all over town.
I’ve taken thousands of photos during bike week over the years. These will be more of the same… whatever happens to catch my eye at the time.
Sorry there a no pics of wet t-shirt contests, cole slaw wrestling, or women lifting up their tops.
I go to Bike Week for the motorcycles…

Well, that's a novel idea! I'm sure they could cut the crowds in half just by making the women keep their clothes on.
Nice variety of photos, JB. I can't quite figure out the 4 wheel Gold Wing conversion. It seems like a monumental case of missing the point of what bikes are about. The KLR GS is cool looking and a clever play. Always wanted a bumblebee GS. Nowadays the guys want more for them than they what they cost new.

Excellent photos, jb. There's some fascinating stuff there and the workmanship on those customs is incredible.

P.S. who was Sam Hill ????
"Sam Hill" was an expresion used as means of saying "hell" in polite company. Much like W, C, Fields' famous expression "Godfrey Daniels".
And I REALLY hope there is a wheelie bar attachment for that bar stool!

Jay, actually that's a "Hold My Beer & Watch This!" prototype being developed for mass marketing to over-monied yuppies. And retirees who want to supplement their meager pensions by pulling big-rig trucks out of ditches.
They're also hopeful it will catch on with suburban commuters who could lane-split their way to the front of long lines of cars and beat anyone away from stop-lights. An electric model is being developed for commuters of the green persuasion.
There was a sad accident with an earlier model when their test rider, one Sam Hill, had his nuts sucked into the carburetor. It would probably have been OK but he panicked and chopped the throttle too quickly and slammed the butterflies on the boys, severing them from their protective sack. They were ingested by the engine and fired across the road into a nearby school yard. There was a big scandal about that.
The problem was easily solved by adding the air cleaner, as shown.
You really have to be careful with such manly machinery as this...

Thats as good as an explination as I ever heard...........the best part is that it is all true.:001:
Thanks for posting all the neat bikes JB.
Glad to see the clydesdales still look the same. :)

That's a Campagna, a three wheeler made in Canada using a Harley V-Rod engine for power.

Awesome! There is/was a british company called Grinall that did a similar conversion using the K100 engine and drive train. They were cool too. Never got to try one though.. (sigh).
Thanks jb.
