This guy is one hell of a gentleman and I wish him a complete recovery. He always has time to speak with me when I'm at a WSB race. He'll probably retire now.
Sad, especially when it happens to the good guys...

That's really sad news.
Frankie has a huge following over here, one of those guys that whoever you went to cheer for you always ended up cheering for Frankie instead!
As you say Will, he's a gentleman. A genuinely nice guy.
A couple of years back a friend of mine was involved in raising money for a charity (The Meningitis Trust) and WSB/Brands Hatch put on an auction of Racing memoribilia to help. Some of the riders were, shall we say, "more helpfull" than others. A star rider was "too busy" to donate anything at all, the arse.
The undoubted star of the show though was Frankie. He listened intently while the charity workers outlined what they were trying to achieve and why.
Then he autographed loads of PR stuff for the auction, went into his pit lane garage and came out with helmet, boots and gloves for the sale.
As the guys were leaving, heavily laden with armfulls of stuff, he called 'em back and added a set of leathers to the pile!
One of the good guys, is Frankie. I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

I like Frankie also..but I think he's had his day...maybe he should have given it away a few years ago......he 'is' getting a bit old now.
Sorry to hear about his crash......hip and ribs..ooh..that's gotta hurt.

Sad, sad thing. I hope he recovers completely and then becomes one of those grand "old" men of the sport. At 41 it takes just a little bit longer to get back in the swing. I'm sure he's got the fortitude.
