Here is a One Piece riding suit that is outstanding in both quality and pricing. I have been talking with this guy for some time now. He left the IT industry some time ago, infact he lived two blocks from San Jose BMW and used to come in and drool over the new Beemers. To make a long story short, he started just under two years ago with the goal of designing and making Motorcycle gear.

I ran across him over at Advrider and have been following this thread since it was first posted. I finely met him and his lovely wife at the San Mateo show, they far exceeded my expectations in both themselves and the integrety that they bring to their expanding product line.

Here is the long thread over at Advrider

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433219

I bought a Lombard V3 suit for both myself and one for Mz Pam while at the show. He had previously sent a test suit for Mz Pam to try on for proper sizing. Today I road to the Bearwallow on the R1200S to try it out. The temp out during the ride was between 45 and 55 F. In a nut shell I was impressed. I wore a pair of Bluejeans and a long sleve Carhartt Tee shirt under the suit, no Gerbings or anything else. I was comfortable and ever so slightly on the cool side during the entire 200 miles that I road today. At speeds of well over 150 the suit felt great with no fluttering at all, all the armor stayed perfectly in place and the suit seemed to stop any air intrusion. The build quality is second to none. After being impressed on todays ride, thought I would introduce it here.

Think Aerostitch but at a hell of a lot less cost. You can read the ADVrider thread and his webbsite for all the particulars. They are extremely easy to deal with and fantastic customer service.

Love this pic, dahr-ling! If you'd just turn the toes of your right foot to the right, slightly. And maybe put your right hand on your hip? Yes, I'm sure we could sell it..

Sorry, Dean, that's my "artistic leanings" coming to the fore! :linzi:

Looks like a great suit. I've long been amazed that Aerostich have had no serious competition for so long. Wait! You say the guy was in IT? He doesn't want a part time job does he??

Si. :)

You don't want a 1200S! You want an 850R, in black, low mileage, carefully ridden by mature owner..

Anybody who wears knee pucks on the street is in serious need for a de-tox program. Nice bike, though. Where'd you find one of those discontinued old BMWs? Sign seen at my local BMW dealership, in the tech area: "We screw the other guy and pass the savings on to you!" Good for you, Golden Hooligan; was your new suit made in Sri Lanka by slave labor? My Aerostich was made in USA and the workers actually have a health plan! The quality remains long after the thrill of a bargain!

hugs,

Wild Thorn

...just buggin' ya, Dean.....

Alas Will, your reasoning is flawed. I bought my Aerostich Darien riding pants with the idea that they were lovingly stictched together by the ladies in Duluth....until I found the "Made in India" label inside the waistband.

Not that I would pull someones chain.

Dean, I ordered the Hi Viz. Yea, it means I have to wait 6-8 weeks, BUT I'll have the privledge of looking like a neon Banna during my commute.

Look Kids, moneys tight for all of us. I really looked at "The Stich" but 900 to a 1000 bucks for a suit I'll wear MAYBE 3 months a year. Hell, we wear mesh gear in AZ ALL FREAKING year! At a hair less than 345 $ shipped to my door I couldn't say no. I'm also ordering a Mojave Suit (http://www.teizms.com/mojave-p-3.html?osCsid=tv162e19g7j3crt5q8pkf65c83)(in Hi Viz) to wear here when the V 3 is too much. The Mojave suit is a mesh suit I can wear even here in the Summer. The Mojave is 289 bucks AND they'll give me 50 bucks off that because I ordered a V 3 as well. For less than 2/3 the cost of a Stich I'm protected year round.

Check out the link to ADV Dean posted. Not ONE negative comment. I talked to Dean about his and He seemed impressed. Good enough for me. Guess I'll get used to looking like a Power Ranger.

I thought my two-piece `stitch Roadcrafter was outrageously expensive when I bought it. Now, amortized over 15 years and 150k miles, it's been pretty cheap weather and road rash protection.

It's not as pretty as when I bought it. Butt, then again, neither am I...

When I replace it, I'll certainly look into this suit though.

Guys, here is a link to their page on the V3 suit. It is made in Pakistan where BMW, Revit, and other hi quality gear is made.

This is a pic of Ghazi and Hani while visiting the MC B&B on their way from the Long Beach show to Dallas.

Ghazi does all the designing and the customer service is unbeliveable.

Thanks Airman. I wish I'd known that!

Could be the Aerostich Suits are made in the US, but I don't know. It's a real struggle to find goods that are not made in China these days. I guess you always have to ask. i was actually looking at the Rev'it riding suit, while it uses leading adge materials, it's price makes the Roadcrafter suit look like a bargain.

Dean's new suit looks great. I bought a RevIt suit a couple of years ago when I had more money and was supporting a great litle local shop in LA. Plus they had stuff to try on. They since raised the price, not a wise move.

It is a good suit. Kept me bone dry during a 600 mile ride to Dean's that was very rainy most of the way.

I'm surprised the Aerostich suit has not been updated at all, maybe it's that good.

Here is some new info from the makers of the suits.

Folks,
As i said earlier, 2011 will be the year of the suit! So here is step one. We are working with Rainy Pass Repair Inc to develop a full fledge warranty and repair program in the U.S.A. Details will be available soon. What does this mean:

a) Repair you suit if it crashes
b) If your suit has a warranty issue, we can fix it instead of making you wait a few weeks to get a replacement.
c) Refresh the parts on your suit after a few years

If you don't know about Rainy Pass Repair: It is the company that supports the official warranty programs of BMW and Rev'It.

I'll say it again, these guys are a real class act.
