:028: RIDING THE TWISTIES:028:

I had a Doctor’s appointment in the Medical Center, rode the R1100RS to Houston, then over to the Medical Center Parking Garage, boy it brings me back to the days of the first elevators when I was a kid. I would go up to the top-then back down-if mom wanted to find me that was the first place she looked. In the parking garage you have two TWISTIES per floor, I rode up to the top then back to the bottom-turned around and did it 10 more times, thought I on the DRAGON doing the twistes thing in DOWN TOWN HOUSTON. After all that riding I then went over to the GOODIE BBQ joint and had a great sandwich. Just to show U there is good riding in HOUSTON.

On Sunday mornings (not THIS Sunday or the next few...) I would sometimes go to my office parking garage and practice my drifting technique - polished concrete is controllably slick, and 2nd gear is a great accel/decelerration ratio to practice. There's enough open space to not worry about concrete pillars (ouch). Twisties in Houston? You may have found the only ones south of The Woodlands.
