In keeping with my new policy of not posting Moto-GP stuff anymore, you never heard this from me..

Valentino Rossi will ride a bike for the first time today [Wednesday] since breaking his leg last month as doctors continue to evaluate his recovery process.

Remarkably, it has been just a month (June 5th) since Rossi's accident during free practice for the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, but the Italian has already lined up a test on a Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike at Misano.

The test has been organised to 'better understand' Rossi's condition, with doctors hoping to plan the next stage of his rehabilitation programme in order for him to make a return to racing as soon as he feels confident to do so.

A statement for Yamaha said:

“The test will take place using a YZF-R1 WSB machine provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team to the Fiat Yamaha Team. Yamaha will inform the media later today of the results of the test and of Valentino's condition.”

Rossi has publically targeted the Czech Grand Prix in August as the venue for his return, but should the test go favourably he could be on the FIAT Yamaha for the German GP on July 18th.

If he beats Tosser's time, wonder what Jame's explanation will be?

Heard he did 26 laps. Also, was 3 seconds off pole position for World Superbikes on that track.

Pretty impressive coming back so fast. I guess if he can psych Jorge into a couple of DNFs over the rest of the season Rossi stands just a shred of a chance. I am betting he comes out racing.

"YZF-R1 WSB machine provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team"

It's good that he started on something basic and slow...

And a GP bike costs how much more to build & race than a WSB "street" bike...?

Valentino was out again yesterday (Mon). He did 46 laps of Brno on his new toy (WSB R1) and fared well. He then went off for more x-rays. It seems sitting on a beach sipping something cool and watching the bikini clad babes hold less attraction than getting hot and sweaty in leathers..

From Crash.net,

Valentino Rossi will leave it until Wednesday to reveal his decision over whether to make his MotoGP return at this weekend's German Grand Prix.

The Italian underwent a second test on a Superbike at Brno on Monday, an outing that he says 'went better than at Misano', but it will be a round of X-rays on Wednesday that will ultimately help him decide whether to make his return earlier than initially scheduled.

Rossi completed 46 laps with a best time of 1min 59.1secs around the Czech circuit, a effort that would have placed him fourth or fifth on the grid for the World Superbike event.

Reporting that he felt less pain than during his test outing at Misano, Rossi maintains it won't be until the San Marino Grand Prix in September until he is likely to feel fully competitive once again.

“I'm very happy with how it went, I felt much better than in Misano – last week was pretty hard but I feel better and better and we have had five days between those two tests. This time my knee and shoulder didn't hurt as much,”

“Now I'll have to wait to take a decision on Wednesday after we have some X-rays as to whether I race or not in Germany. Doing a full race will be a different story, but I still have another couple of days to get a bit better
.
“Racing in the next two races would be important in order to be in good shape in Brno (on August 15th), however I think we'll have to wait until Misano (on September 5th) to be fully competitive.”

“Riding the YZF-R1 was good fun, I have to thank the team for preparing the bike for me,” he stated. “We had to work a bit on my leg before checking the bike set-up. It went well and I managed some good lap times, it's a good way to get back into action.”

Sure is back pretty damn fast. My youngest daughter broke her collar bone in a fall off her horse in June (although in pain, she really only cried when the doc told her she should not ride for 4 weeks. She was back riding in 2 weeks, jumping in 3, and 4 weeks after her break she was thrown 4 times in one afternoon when her horse refused the same jump multiple times. All a bit earlier than I would have wanted but I was over ruled by Tracie & daughter. Of course Tracie did wait a few days to admit to all the get offs. She said Victoria kept wanting to try the jump again and was getting mad. I commented that maybe after the 3rd fall she could have called it a day. Answer was something about getting back up on the horse again. Hey, at least there were no more hospital trips.

Victoria is a tough kid. But Rossi is pretty tough too. Lorenzo better not get too comfortable. Rest of the season should be a hoot.

Indeed! Taking nothing away from Rossi and Lorenzo, the Yamahas seem to have a significant advantage over every machine in the field this year. It will be nice to see Lorenzo needing a reason to look over his shoulder again. I'm sure the psychological effect of Rossi's presence will make a big difference, wherever he starts on the grid.

Good stuff that your daughter is as tough as she is! She is sure to do wonderful things with a spirit that strong! Go Victoria!
