The founders of the Motorcyclist Cafe would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of the new members. Thanks to the hard work of a small group of people and the generous contributions of a larger group, we have managed to get the website off the ground.

A number of people have inquired about contributing to the on-going support of the site. We have established a Paypal account and a dues structure for those who like to contribute. To make the accounting easier we have chosen to make annual dues payable on a pro-rated basis, with all renewals coming due in January. The annual contribution amount has been set at $24.00 per year. We anticipate that at that level we should be able to fund all on-going operating costs for the foreseeable future.

It is the intent of the Founders of the Motorcyclist Cafe that this website be run by the dues paying members. With your contribution will come access to a section of the forum where matters pertaining to the on-going management of the website are discussed. We encourage all dues paying members to be active participants in our growth and development.

We hope that everyone is finding the Cafe to be an enjoyable place to hang out, and encourage everyone to invite their friends. For those wishing to contribute, instructions, along with a Paypal link can be found on the Membership page.

Please note that anyone contributing via Paypal needs to send their user name in a separate email to:

membership@motorcyclistcafe.com

So far, I haven't been able to figure out a better way to tie members to their Paypal transactions.

Thanks

Doesn't Paypal have a space set aside for messages?

Ya know Dean, I thought it did. Maybe it does for the merchandise payment screens but I think the format is different for donations. Either that or I just missed it. I'll check again and see if I can't find something.

Got tomorrow off? Going to Show Low for lunch. Back across 260, and down 87. Meeting a friend at the Chevron station just off 60 on Goldfield Rd at 9:00. Come on out...

Well, is $24 per year enough to cover your costs? What are the costs? I mean, does somebody work full time at the site? Will membership become large enough to allow a salary for the head computer honcho? Is there some long range plan for the site? What will become of non-paying hangers-on? Just wanted to ask, since the idea of paying membership just came up (at least to me).
It's a fun site, and has possibilities for growth. It reminds me of other forums I've hooked up with from time to time. Most I've eventually drifted away from. The one thing that lends the forum credibility to me, a far away lone biker hooligan Fundamentalist Anarchist cosmic pioneer pub loving psychedelic budding curmudgeon, is the presence of one of my true peers, Dangerous Dave.
So, what's next? Let's make this interesting. Let's get to the essence of hoonery. Let's decide which type of "skin" makes our asses look manly. But let's decide right here and now that ass-less chaps are VERBOTEN. OK?

Yes - We did an initial capital raising from our "founders" group, and have had a lot of donated time and work. 24 pm/py is more than enough.

Just tossed some $$ to the site. So many friends here I had to help. Thanks for a great site with the best members anywhere!
