Hamilton, 25, did a burnout with smoking tyres and a fishtail in a silver Mercedes along Lakeside Drive in front of a Victoria Police car about 9.15pm last night.

His car was impounded for 48 hours by the Traffic Management Unit.

A witness last night said Hamilton slumped down in his car and tried to hide from spectators when police approached his car.
