I wrote back and said that it sounds about right :ymca:

LET ME SEE IF I GOT THIS RIGHT:
IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.

IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.

IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.

IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU WILL BE JAILED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.

IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

IF YOU CROSS THE U.S. BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET:

* A JOB,
* A DRIVERS LICENSE,
* SOCIAL SECURITY CARD,
* WELFARE,
* FOOD STAMPS,
* CREDIT CARDS,
* SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE,
* FREE EDUCATION,
* FREE HEALTH CARE,
* A LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON
* BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN YOUR LANGUAGE
* THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY'S FLAG WHILE YOU PROTEST THAT YOU DON'T GET ENOUGH RESPECT

I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I HAD A FIRM GRASP ON THE SITUATION.

Good response, Gord! I had to smile.

Based upon some of the folks that I met on a tour of the Maritime provinces a while back, there's plenty of conservatives in Canada. Just not enough to take control of goverment, it seems.

Just an observation from a visitor, no claim of any degree of accuracy :).

I'll just lift a response from another blog -- where this political propaganda also surfaced:
So the USA should be more like North Korea/China/Saudi Arabi/Iran/Afghanistan/Cuba/Venezuela?

(Sigh.)

Do you suppose that those countries have much of a problem of people trying to illegally sneak into their country looking for "Better Lives"...........or they trying to sneak out......just to put things into persepctive.

And, I wonder which of those countries have 12 million, more or less, illegal immigrants living in them. All the news sources in this country seem to agree with that number, regardless if it fits with a political view, or not.

Regrettably, not any more. We're now the land of 'everybody thinks everything should be free'.

Its not quite the same.

How about we just try to act like we are a sovereign nation?

Hell, when are we just going to admit we are full? And damn near broke? And FUBAR?
Where's the Re-Set button? And I don't mean just the present administration.
