I just bought a Kawasaki KLR 250, 94 model from a buddy of mine. It has 3500 miles on it,and a clear title. Everything works,it is a clean bike, has a small hole in the seat cover. I paid $600 for it, so I feel like I got a pretty good deal. It is fun to ride, but I really don't know much about it. Do any of You Guys have any experience/advice about the KLR 250? I bought it mainly to put in My enclosed trailer, when I travel/camp, for something to play with. I know I am going to do some performance mods, on a low budget. Advice?

Lucky duck! I've been hoping to find something similar around these parts myself. It would be nice to have a smaller, trail-worthy bike for so many reasons. Once you know what you want to do, get a list of parts together and I'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks,Jeremy,I appreciate that! Prolly will mod air box, and do something about the restrictive exhaust. Supposedly, a larger carb is a big plus. Been over to the KLR forum, they seem to have a lot of good info.

Can't help you Don, as the KLR250 was never imported here (indeed the 650 only had a short life here). If it's anything like the Honda XL250 it'll be a "more fun than a fat lass covered in grease". Enjoy yourself!

Thanks, Si. I have a running 72 XL-250 , waiting to be restored....one of these days. Great bikes!

I believe I've suffered permanent damage from this statement.

Thanks for that, Si.
