The Buell rolled off the kick stand this morning in the driveway. Broke the left front turn signal and scraped the frame protector and hand guard. I hate it when a new bike goes down for the first time.

I've been thinking about some bar end protectors and axle sliders lately. This incident will motivate me to finally get some.

I had the same thing happen to my '98 S3 tube framer.

I had left it idling for a minute while I got my helmet out. I didn't realize the bike was pointed slightly downhill. About a hundred bucks in paint work and a new 5 dollar turn signal later and it was good as new.

From then on, I made certain it was pointed uphill if I was going to leave it idling on the sidestand.

Sorry it happened to yours, but sounds like the damage was not too bad.

I am always happy when that inevitable new scoot mishap happens on the driveway. It relieves the dread of when, where, and how bad.

Glad yours did not involve any cars.

The first cut is the deepest. At least You didnt have a big audience. I dropped My New Electra Glide in a campground,at Yellowstone,at the end of a 700 mile day,in front of about a hundred folks. Those cinders were hard on that nice shiny new black paint!Of course My buddies were supportive, and sympathetic! When I got up next morning ,some clown had placed a large band aid on the scratch......:icon_redface:

I came real close to dropping the big GSA in a gas station on christmas eve. Just filled up the 9 gal tank, so the bike was a bit top heavy, and pulling out from the pump, instead of going straight like I intended I decided to make a quick U turn between the pump islands. Didn't seem overly tight but the bike started to go down, a couple of furious leg dabs and grabbing a bunch of throttle was just able to save it. I'm sure it looked ugly. In fact I know I looked the idiot. Too bad I know the owner of the station.
