Arizona Bike week kicks off this Friday with a big shindig at Haceinda Harley in Snottsdale AZ.
Any of the Arizona contingent plan on going? I'm planning on going Friday night to Hacienda. Its really not my scene, but lots of cool custom bikes, and the people watching is worth it. I'll take pics.
The big show opens at WestWorld on WED and I'll go there Saturday the 8th after the AZ trialthon meeting.
Email me jamming60@cox.net to exchange cell numbers.

I'm afraid to go - one of those bad Harley men might try to rape me.

Yes, those big tough bikers just look at us BMW guys as "brown-eye", I'm afraid. Those Harley-type rallies make me feel so used - like a piece of meat!

Gives a new meaning to the term "Live to Ride"!:104:

Even though I am part cruiser guy, I feel like an outcast there, could be the Yamaha not Harley thing. I remember when Ducati and others used to have demo bikes there and it was a blast. I rode a Buell demo and watched some fool get so excited, he forgot to put down the kickstand! :eusa_clap: Even the local Harley guys I know are not too excited about AZ bike week. Although, you will be able to sign up for Hell's Angels membership and buy numerous "white power" shirts at the swap meet. :104:

Bill - actually, your sentiment pretty much echos mine. Just a bunch of cheese-dick cruiser posers. There were a couple of bright spots last year - Victory BMW had a display and will again this year. They promise to have the new R1200GS Adventure at their Bike Week display, so that will be a first peek at the new bike. Logan, from Logan's Valley Motorsposrts, usually does some cool stuff as well, has some unusual brands, like Ural and MZ, and sponsors the rather eclectic "Logan's Run" ride.

The unfortunate part about it all are the people with no protective gear riding heavy bikes that they can't control. Several deaths last year - a nurse friend in Scottsdale told me about a couple, 45 and 42, both fatal on their HD coming back from the event - no gear. I think there were five road deaths last year in area traffic going to/from the event.

When in doubt, at a biker rally where you feel out of place, yell "show us your tits" and when everybody looks the other direction, run like hell!

The final death count for Daytona Bike Week was 20.
Careful what you wish for, Arizona.
