I'll be in Mesa Dec 21 for 10 days. I'll have a bike with me this time. Plan now for some riding. I like the Tortilla Flats ride but I'm looking for other ideas also.

Friday Dec 18. It's 24 degrees out and we have 5" of snow. I rode the bike to the front yard where I could load it into the truck. I was on the road at 9:00 AM.

I arrived yesterday. This morning I got on the bike and headed for Tortilla Flats. I stopped by the Harley dealer first to get directions. I told him I wanted to take the dirt road from Tortilla Flats to Roosevelt dam. He said it was not doable on a bike. So I set out to see for myself. I found the road steep and narrow with lots of washboard. No guardrails most of the way with lots of places to fall to your death. It was perfect.

I went to Ocal and froze my ass of today. It was 39 degrees when I went through Globe. Heated jacket could barely keep up.

4 F up here this morning with 12" of snow on the ground, nice and warm in the house however with a fire in the trusty wood burning stove.

Looking out the window it is just beautiful...2" of drifted snow, clear blue sky, bright sunny morning.
But don't walk outside! 20-40MPH gusty winds and 20F.
Dammit, we're right on the edge of the storm. I was hoping for 2' of snow and no wind.

I haven't posted in a few days, looks like our web site changed some, Anyway, I'm on my way home. I'm at Nellis AFB right now. I only rode 600 miles in Arizona. I spent most of my time being a good son helping my ageing parents. While I was gone my wife had to put her dad in a nursing home, his time is short. Sorry I never got together with the Cafe group like I did last year. I'll try again in May 2010.

After the cop gave me the ticket (55 in a 45) he wanted to tell me about the new Electra Glide he got. I was too pissed off to talk about bikes though.

When did Nevada enact a speed limit? When I lived in Elko,there was no speed limit.The dirty coppers could stop You though,for any reason.
