I dunno...that front fairing looks kind "slab" sided. It's kinda hard to beat the looks of the last GT. The power makes it attractive, but... :doubt:
that's exactly what i dont like - the slab side and sharp styling. i just hope they don't screw up the looks of the upcoming r1200r.
not sure if this is a krs or kgt, but i like this bike. saw it at the 80th in squaw valley...

I had a sit on the new K1200 GT about 6 months ago...it looks great in real life..and not as flat and boring as most pics show it.

The LEO's here have the KGT and the R/RT.
They sell them off for less than OZ$10K at around 40K k's at public auction.
I was talking to a copper on Saturday about his. It had died suddenly and left him stranded whilst he was doing traffic control during the Commonwealth games. I asked him what it was..."I don't have any idea..I just ride it."

Rivi, the red bike above is a K1200RS with the GT fairing. As you know the major styling/cosmetic difference with the GT is the slightly larger fairing up front. The black outer rim of the fairing (by the indicators) is the add-on. You can actually buy those bits and put them on a K-RS as seen in the pic. A new-out-of-the-box GT would have those bits already bolted on, and painted the same color as the rest of the bike.
I agree the previous generation K bikes are among the nicest looking bikes on the road. The new GT is indeed a bit slab-sided, but it's a lot better looking in person. And of course the performance makes up for a lot.
I will probably pull the triggger on a R1200ST soon but a little part of me wants to test ride a new GT when they come out. I'm afraid to ride the new K1200S because if i do I'll buy it on the spot.........

Tony, Dean and I both have the R1200ST. You won't be sorry. Its the bike I've waited for BMW to build for 25 years. I ride mine everyday, its a dream. I'm gonna have the seat reworked, and thinking about the higher bars.
I love the looks of the new KGT, but my bike is my transportation, and the colormatched bags would get beat up in everyday use. I love the R motor for traffic work and its great on the highway, besides, after 25 years on boxer twins I'm too old to change now.
BTW, welcome to our merry band of Peckerheads, put in your 2 cents worth and enjoy!

Thanks Roger for your perspective on the ST. I read Dean's posts after he picked up his and frankly you guys add up to a hell of an endorsement early on for a new product.
I'll probably pop into my dealer tomorrow or early next week and see what kind of deal they can put together. As of last week when I was there for a new battery the still had the '05 blue/black demo unit I test rode. I know there are incentives out there as they offered to make me whole on R trade in (equals about $2500) and throw some stuff in with the ST (center stand, luggage rack, etc) without me even asking.
More to come,
Thanks

I prefer the looks of the old GT. I guess I have a good reason...:eusa_clap:
