:028: Went for a ride on some of the old Jeep roads on the backside of our property today. Again, no where near a DJ report....but:eusa_drool:

On top of a hill about 3 miles back, first and second gear to get up there.

Looking down into the valley, the fire roads are only passable with an ATV or Jeep.

That KLR is great, just putt along in first and it seems to climb over anything, you can spend several hours exploring and only cover 30-35 miles. Exhausted but a ton of fun.

Dean,

Where is that field of lava rock? Or at least it looks like lava.

Ron, you will see. The entire area up here is a prehistoric lava flow. Volcanic cones abound and yes The pics were taken on one.

Brings back great memories of dirt riding...looks great Dean!

Just back from a frigid week of business in Chicago... and glad to be home in (soon to be tomorrow) sunny and warm California again.

It is an old Juniper tree trunk.

Did a little more riding today, this Dual Sport thing is addicting, fun and exhausting in a good way.

Worked my way down this very rocky trail to the dry lake seen in the back ground. About 100' down and 2 or 3 miles by 5 miles wide. Old indian artifacts and petrified wood every where.

Hi speed country hi way, you get excited if you ever get to hit 25 MPH.

Back home after about 100 miles. The only diff between men and boys....is the price of their toys. Not an overly neat shop............but every thing needed for toy maintaince.

Life is good...enjoy it while you can.

This country out here is amazing as you can go hundreds of miles cross country as so much of it is state and federal land with unfenced huge ranches. You can literally ride hundreds of miles with out seeing a soul, great for ATV's and dual sport bikes.

Can't imagine how neat it would be to live in a place with interesting geology.

Ah well, vicarious thrills are better than none at all.

Thanks, Dean.
