View Full Version : ANOTHER ONE GONE

Recently I received a titanium exhaust system to test and report on. It was made by a long-time friend, Takashi, who lives in Japan. He's part of the huge BMW enthusiast group there, and was in the process of moving his operations to Portland, on the lands of my friend Doug (who hit a deer en route to Laguna Seca in July; Dean remembers).

Takashi had a cerebral hemorrhage last week and is gone at 51 years. His wife and 23 year old son came to take him back home, and another one of my Bros (and yours) is gone. Raise your glass to a true adventurer, metalsmith, fabricator and always smiling and affable part of the scene.

If you know anyone special to you, tell them so before it's too late! We only have Now.

Takashi, you'll be missed. Sayonara!

Takashi I never knew you - except all people who live and love motorcycles are related. Sometimes we do not speak the same language, but it does not really matter, or so I've found. The thrill of something strong between ones legs, and using both your hand/arms to control it . . . well let me just say that to my thinking; that's life at its fullest.

Takashi, I never knew or even met you, but I admire you and your beautiful art anyway.
I wish I'd known you...Godspeed.

Sorry to hear this Will. 51 is young, thats my age! Takashi's exhaust is a thing of beauty. I hope when you listen to it as you ride it keeps Takashi along with you, not in a sad way, but in a pleasant way.
