I was lucky enough to see Doug Henry win both a major MX race and a national Super Moto. What a great racer with a great future.
Until his accident.
Now just look what this guy is doing...Go Doug!

I'm not much on hero worship and there are few riders for whom I've rooted when watching them race, I just enjoy the racing, but Doug Henry has always been on the list of those I most enjoyed seeing come out on top. Darned few riders have shown the indomitable spirit against extreme adversity that he has. I wonder how long it will be now before Doug Henry and David Bailey (http://www.davidbaileymx.com/pages/news.cfm) get together for a heads up race?

the other Doug

Wouldn't that be cool?

There was talk of getting Doug into road racing during his short Super Moto career.
I talked with some guys I know who were helping him set up his Yamaha SM bike and they said he was a natural road racer. He was practicing on the SM at a "club track" and equalled the road race track record!

I've always been a Doug Henry fan!

Years ago he cleared the big down hill at Budds Creek mx in Southern Maryland, just crested the the top so fast that he was airbourne for so far that he didn't touch down till he was on flat ground. Plus, there's a sharp right hander at the bottom, with no run off room. Broke both his arms, put him outta commission for a while.

He's always been a heck of a racer. Hope life treates him as well as possible from here on out.
