I'm going to be there for about six days and I need to mentor my friend. She just had her MSF and license not that long ago and she doesn't have anybody to ride with locally. This would be a good opportunity for her to have somebody fairly experienced to ride with.
I don't want any crazy road but something with some easy corners so that she can learn proper cornering techniques and throttle management.
I'll take her city riding late at night in order to avoid the cager traffic but still get the stop & go effects.

When will you be here? Take here up to South Mountian Park, decent twisties and little traffic, but the park closes at 9:00 PM I think. Its pretty much in the center of town.
What side of town does she live on? East or West?, Phoenix is a big town, depends on where she lives and we can dial you in.
Lots of us here in the Phoenix area, if you want to meet for a cup of joe.

If you will be there in April drop me a line, I would be happy to show you around.
There is a great half day ride that I took my son on when he was starting out riding. Head East on US 60 to Globe, Arizona, about 1.5 hours. Then head North and West to Roosevelt lake and back over to Route 87 at Jakes Corner, just South of Payson. Take 87 back down to the Phoenix area. Lots of great sweepers and roads which are not too technical. There are also a lot of great, easy rides between Tucson and the Phoenix area - Like heading East on US 60 to Superior, South to Florence, then down to Oracle, and back up to the Phoenix area.
Stay away from 89A Jerome, Cottonwood - pretty twisty.
Have fun - like I said, let me know if you are there in April maybe we can hook up. Bob

Thanks for the heads-up. She's living in Chandler not too far off the 60.
I'm there later this week 24 Mar through 29 Mar 06.
I would like to meet up with you Phoenixian (or is it Phoenicians?:028: ) maybe this Saturday or Sunday? That way I can introduce her to you guys for continued riding lessons and socializing. Her hubby is a novice rider as well but he's out of town at the moment.
OK, how about meeting for brunch at Vincent's on Camelback this Saturday? http://www.vincentsoncamelback.com/

Sorry - I'm in DC through the end of next week :( Woudl she be interested in taking the ERC - I am teaching one with a group of board people, including two girls, at TEAM Arizona in Gilbert on April 10.

191, the old 666, is a must do road. It's only a couple of hours away along the east border, Alpine to Clifton. You have to really push it to average over 35 MPH over the 60 miles.

I don't think that she's quite ready for the ERC yet. The girl has probably has than 200-miles under her belt.
Road Dog, thanks for the suggestion but I don't think that she's quite ready for that tight of a road yet. But it sure sounds like fun though.
