As some of you may know, I will be joining the ranks of the unemployed (retired) tinkerers soon. With Dean-o as the Grand Pooh-Baah and Dave joining before me...the company will be excellent.
I have 5 acres in Southern Illinois to build my new shop (2000 sq. ft.) and home and I have to hire out someone with a tractor to maintain it now.
You can see what I'm getting at now...;) I need to buy my own tractor! Damn, I haven't played with one of these since that yellow Tonka was the top billing in my toy box.
It can't be just any old tractor but, it does have to be old and cool looking. I have been searching the tractor classifieds and eBay and I finally found it. 4 cylinder gas and parts are still made today. My wife even bought me the new fenders and grill for it for Christmas:D
Here it is...restoration pics to follow when I'm not using it to cut the field...

Will it wheelie?
I saw a vid of some radical wheelies on big tractors...saw some on their tops too.
We don' need no steenking horsepower, torque is where it's at!

Randy, here is an old early 50's Ford 2000 that Mz Pam and I use around our place. The Ford 2000 is a slightly bigger version of the 8N, unbeliveably handy, even necessary for country living.

I grew up on, and my Dad still uses, a '53 Ferguson. It is very similar to the Ford 8N except the pedals are all different. The Fergie has the clutch on the front left, brake on the front right, and steering brakes on the back pedals.

I wish I had a pic of it. What a horse!
