You know the old saying, "Bite off more than you can chew ....... then chew like crazy"?

Well this old boy has turned this idea into an high level art-form...

This shot was taken at the Pilbara iron ore mine site in Western Australia and the little snack took the snake five hours to finish....http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff179/Johnquincy/n572777816_1831657_1542757.jpg

The mine workers erected a barrier to allow the serpent to finish his meal in peace....

Our local Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes can (when they must!) go for more than 2 years between meals.
Your old boy there must be good for 5 years at least!
Know what kind of snake it is?
Snakes are fascinating critters...we used to have a pet 6-foot Boa Constrictor named Gus. He married Thelma at Texas Tech University and last I heard was busy producing little squeezers!

Good one Dave.
That particular snake is called, wait for it, a black headed python.

Where did they get that name from I wonder....:linzi:

Boxer Boy, I've seen that pic before.... My old Navy mate, JC Fullard sent it to me. He called it "Northern Territory Fishing".

I thought I was pretty good in the eating game but my black headed mate puts me to shame for sure....

Nice! A meal that comes with it's own toothpick!
