I believe that is how they do the MSF course in Massachusetts.

That one's pretty funny - been around for quite a while too. I actually almost did that about a year ago when push starting my Ducati down a steep driveway in LA - I dumped the clutch at about 5000 RPM - luckily, my incredible bulk prevented me from coming up more than about 40 degrees, but my Mom and son, who were both standing there, thought I was a God for holding it together and acting cool.
All through MSF level one exercises we insist on four fingers covering the clutch, but we still get some crack-ups very similar to what you saw in the video, except the bike usually ends up coming straight towards our coaching position!
