After 143 days of no measurable moisture of any kind....... The gods let Mz Pam and I know what snow was all about..........:104:

Good Grief.......30" in two days with drifts 4 to 5 '. The most snow that we have seen since we moved up here in '97 was 10 ", we thought that was a lot. This stuff is almost impossible to walk in, no way to get the Jeep or Subaru out our drive way, no one plows the 3 miles to the blach top.

I guess an HP2 is in order this weekend. With a PLOW! Imagine how all those free-range cattle feel out there!! Looks like very light powder, but tons of it.
Pretty pics.

Dean, good to see your ok! I was watching the news all day. Brother this was a storm, and it looks like you got it.
Sure is pretty, if you need supplies we can airdrop some:)
Here in Phoenix the sun is out and its a bit chilly, in the 50's. Gonna be in the mid 70's by midweek.
Take care up there in the winter wonderland.

Geez Dean...with even the Jeep or Subaru not able to get out...do you have enough supplies to last you a while?

Beautiful pics. We had some rare snow on the Pacific coast the last few days as well. There was a snowball fight inside the local bar. Don't worry - it's OK; somebody regularly goes through the window head first at that bar anyway, and is usually thrown there by "Short Fuse" Linda, the barkeep. I pity her husband.

All is OK, toasty warm in the house. The snow started to melt a little yesterday. The full moon lately with brilliant chrystal clear skys with the blindingly white snow turns nite into day and the sun during the day almost requires welding goggles to see outside. I don't think that I have ever seen more stars than last nite nor the air so clear. Spent 4 or 5 hours Sunday making a path out our driveway with the ATV, would back it up and ram the snow as hard as I could and would plow about 15 ft., the snow blowing over my head like a big explosion, back up and do it again. Finaly got to the end of my 1/2 mile drive way and fortunately some guy had driven his jacked up 4 by up the dirt road to the black top which was county maintained. I was able then to drive Mz Pam to work yesterday in the Jeep, 4 wheel drive with positraction...just barely made it. This morning she was able to make it to the black top in the Subaru..............a truly remarkable vehicle by the way. The Sub goes thru mud and snow better than any vehicle that we have ever had, Dodge Rams, and Jeeps of all sorts. The only problem with the Sub is not enough ground clearence though it is an Outback Forester The world is returning to normal and Darth and I are talking about getting a pair of Kawasaki KLR650's......in addition to the bikes that we have and are talking about some serious adventure riding. How about border to border on the Contentinal Divide all dirt roads and fire trails thru the back country............

Now THAT would be a reason to get a KTM Adventure. Any ballpark dates I should know about?

Collyer, sometimes after Daves retirement. The Kaw KLR650's are dead reliable, tons of aftermarket and inexpensive, over 6 gallon gas tank and some dealer in the greater Dallas/Ft Worth area is blowing them out the door for $5,200.00.

The thought of such a trip is exciting beyond belief, especially with a hand full of great friends, truly a trip of a life time. Lets start talking about it.

"Dean's dreaming of a White Easter, with every Easter card he writes... Where the patio chairs glisten, and little Easter bunnies listen... To ATV bells in the snow..."

Geez, Dean! Absolutely amazing!

Us humans have to have finally screwed something up in the environment and weather patterns... Hell, we had 8" to 10" of snow here in Corpus Christi, TX (on the Texas Gulf Coast, 150 miles from Mexico) on Christmas Eve in 2004! First time that had happened since recorded weather down here.

Cool on the KLR's... I'm game. When do we leave?

Cheers!

Are you guys moteling it, or sleeping on the ground? I need to Know the answer to that before asking my next question.

I know a great place to stay up near Tin Cup Pass in Colorado.
Either to spend the night or layover for a couple of nights.
