I dropped my camera one too many times and this time it didn't get uP!! it was about 2 years old, A Canon Power Shot A540, A low priced camera that worked pretty well, Being that I am a little hard on cameras I tend to stay away from anything very expensive The A540 was under $200.00 and I did like it, but I just thought I would ask and see if anyone knew of something I might like better. Thanks Den

The number one rule for handling a camera is to use the neck strap religiously, Den. Get a long enough strap at any camera shop if you only have the wrist strap. You cannot go wrong with any of Canon's "point and shoots".

I've keep a Canon SD1000 close at hand. I am amazed at some of the images that I've been able to pull from this tiny little camera. My wife has a Nikon D50 and a reasonable assortment of lenses so I wanted a small, light, quick point and shoot to keep handy. I chose the SD1000 because of it's quick time to first shot and quick reload time. Also, the shutter lag is pretty minimal.
