I tried to check but was turned off by the $10 fee for two days of newspaper coverage.

Interesting that the story only shows up in blogs and forums when searched:102:
I usually find a story that starts with "a true story" isn't.

Something that I've noticed myself.
Over here, you can use "reasonable force" to protect yourself. So, it would be ok to punch a robber but if you knocked him down and then kicked him as he lay there the kick would be deemed unreasonable..

Si,
My story would be he "fell" down 12 or 15 times and I'm sticking to it. Or, as long as they keep trying to get up...it's a threat.
I don't know how the law would feel about shooting someone in the back 6 times. After all the threat is gone. While I personally have no problem with putting a punk in their place, gotta think legal.
It's uncomfortable, to say the least, explaining to the Judge just why you proceeded to beat the bejesus out of the cocksucker. The Judge DOES NOT want to hear they deserved it. DAMHIK :linzi:.....I was young and impetuous.

Yeah...and when Obama gets that 500% ammo tax increase through like the NRA & Rash Limburger said, you'll wish you'd hoarded some too!

Danger Man - you listening in, then?
If that happened out here, you'd be arrested and your lawyer bill would be a minimum of $10K. Permit to carry rules state: warn them you're armed, and use lethal force only if your life is threatened. Works for me. I think a couple of shots into the ground near his feet would've stopped him. I guess Texas is the last remnant of the wild, wild west. Except for Dean's porch...

Sure, I can live with that.
When the crooks start giving you a couple of warnings first, "I'm going to rob you, I'm going to rob you..."
Nah, I don't have to listen to ol' Rash to hear his "stuff"...most forums and my email inbox are full of it.
"...full of it...", what a poetic way of putting it!
