Coming soon to an urban area near you. The GM P.U.M.A.

Top speed 35 mph. Range 35 miles. (But it sure helps meet the corporate CAFE standards - like selling golf carts, as is allowed in Cal-i-forn-i ay).
Oh yeah, GM is reportedly dropping it's performance sections, no more Chevy SS models for example.
Oh yeah, life just gets better and better.

You have to admit...the safety barrier tape trim around the window is a nice touch.

Maybe when I can't walk or ride or think anymore.
Why doesn't GM just spit in the face of the US while we pay for their bailout?
In the old United States of America, when a corporation made bad choices, sold inferior product, and paid it's executives too much $$$, the consequences were simply that the public bought very little of their product, and they just went out of business. This allowed the free-market system to reward the efficient, quality product manufacturer to profit, and competition created a healthy, quality-based market.
Welcome to the USSA, Comrades. GM is now developing crap that we neither want or need. With our $$.

That thing has "I'm a dumbass dweeb written all over it". Best thing that could happen is GM goes into bankruptcy and the Judge recognizes what a stupid idea it is and punches it's ticket to wherever the Edsel went.
