About a mile from our place is a 20 acre parcel with fantastic views, much better than ours. It has a well and full legal permited septic. It is totally off grid with excellent cell reciption for both cell phone and computer air card. The closest neighbor would be.....er.......ah.....um.....us.

Price $65K

Perfect set up for a non city slicker, you could build something really neat over there.

Sounds very inviting Dean!! Are there in cities in the area that need a Traffic Signal Tech that is chasing a Business degree?

do you guys even have traffic signals out there?

Dean, that's cool. Thanks for posting it here!
Wouldn't it be cool if a Cafe' Bro or Sis moved into the neighborhood...

Dave, thought I would post this as a result of a PM from our newest member, jeffjbmw. He found our site thru some of my posts in Advrider about off grid living.

That would be a neat place to be. Off grid, and next to Dean.

The hard part would have to be dealing with the property taxes.........ours are...............about $800.00 to $900.00...........per year.

Oh and the odor of Mz Pams pies wafting thru the countryside....:linzi:

IF Lori and were even remotely set up, this would be *very* interesting to me. My dream is to go off grid at some point, and I'm sure I could learn to live with the local and visiting hoon population.

65K is a great deal... Someone's going to be really happy there!

You guys on or near the left or right coasts would be delighted to see what $65K, more or less, can buy in places with LOW population density and LOW humidity! Both off and on the grid. :webers:

Make no mistake Dave. This summer's trip is a scouting mission. Lori and I are thinking about a move once she's done school in a year or so, and I've always had a soft spot for Arizona.

Besides, somebody has to take care of all the old motorcyclists out there...:pot:

Dean's area is far more populated than my west coast home. He even has a Super WalMart! Nearest one from the west coast slum where I live is a 150 mile round trip. Guess what? We shop locally, and everybody knows everybody else. One cop for a 200 mile radius, but since everybody takes care of themselves, it's fine. Nearest traffic light is 60 miles one way! I hate it when "progress" creeps in...

I think it would be prudent for a small group of you who've asked Dean for space at the Bunkhouse post WWIII, to buy this acreage and build a rural encampment just in case things get weird in the cities where many of you live. Can't beat the price, nor the quality of the neighbors!
