I know a lot of you aren't exactly local, but Martin Motorsports is raffling off a 2009 Thruxton. All the proceeds will be going to A Shelter Friend Pet Rescue, a local Non profit that saves dogs and cats from inhumane kennels and places them with loving homes. The tickets are only $10 for 1and $20 for 3. As bike raffles go, these tickets are pretty cheap.
We're working on the logistics of selling tickets online. That option should be good to go sometime tonight.
If any of you lot win, it gives you an excuse to visit Pennsylvania in early fall. As an added bonus for Cafe members, I will personally help you break in the engine by guiding you on some of the most beautiful backroads my fine state has to offer, as well as eating at some excellent cafes!

Uh-oh. We're both suckers for resue dogs (we have two in the yard now). And one of us is a sucker for motorcycles.
Let us know Jeremy. If on-line isn't avvailable, we can try snail mail.
Heck I contributed to some mutts in Kansas City last year with no bike dangled befor me as bait.

If I take it to Bill, I get to see the Barber again.
If I take it to Dave, I get to hang out at Peckerhead HQ with a bunch of other Peckerheads.
If I take the bike to Dean, I get to turn him to the Dark Side and get the run of the Bunkhouse!
My only problem is how to get home?:pot:

Okay gentlemen, the online raffle info can be found here (http://www.martinmoto.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89&Itemid=94). I sold a few tickets Friday night, but there are surprisingly few entries for the cost of tickets.
Good luck!

Of course, if you win maybe we could set up some personal appearances for the Bronson bike at the local HD dealers. You could trailer Jim's bike here, meet lots of new HOG fans, and trailer both bikes back. It's pretty spectacular around here in September, and I'll be happy to show you around!:pot:

Jeremy, its unreal, but My Bronson Buddies have found that most Harley dealers and empleyees dont know who Bronson was! When Billy Gibson was on His way home from Bixby Bridge a few weeks ago,He stopped and toured the Dyna/Sportster plant, wearing a TCB t-shirt. NONE of the H-D employees He spoke to at the factory, even knew who Bronson was! That TV show sold a gazillion Sportsters for the Motor Company. They have finally acknowledged some of the impact,by Inviting Us to appear at the Harley-Davidson Museum in July, with Our bikes and memorabilia.I wont be attending, but there will be at least 5 replica bikes there.Back to the Thruxton, after You pull some strings and I win it,You can ride it to Texas, break it in,and I wil buy You a plane ticket Home! Deal?:webers:

I have no trouble believing no one know TCB. People forget things so easily and most of the younger generations want to re-invent the wheel. I wish I'd learned of the show earlier. I very much enjoyed what I've seen of it. Maybe someone aught to suggest an article for publication in the HOG magazine?
As for delivering the bike, you have yourself a deal!:webers: However, if you win, it will be through no fault of mine (even if a nice road trip is always good).

You chaps have it wrong. This is how it's going to work..
Following the prize draw MY new Thruxton will be taken to the home of a willing volunteer Cafe member who will look after it untill my visit. I shall then ride it around a bit, sight-seeing and visiting other Cafe folk (free loading in other words) untill I leave it at the house of the next volunteer caretaker. Rinse and repeat untill everyone who has rashly offered me a roof has been met and thanked. Yeah, that'll work..
Cheers, and be seein' ya..

I agree to your terms Si! Whilst here, you will be subjected to the heartbreak of twisty backroads, the pain of experiencing the local eateries, and the utter misery that are our local breweries. A lesser man would quail at this prospect, but I think you're up to the task!
In any case, should you win the Thrux I shall happily break in the motor and insure it's functioning properly every few days or so.:eusa_clap::eusa_clap:
Good luck to you and to the esteemed Capt. Blackadder as well!

I have an announcement regarding the Thrux raffle. Apparently, selling the raffle tickets online is against PayPal policy so we can no longer sell the tickets online. However, if you call the main number (610 369 3120) and hit "0" for operator, you can still buy tickets. Deb will be happy to sell you some tickets over the phone, or you can email her at: admin@martinmoto.com

Whew, glad I got mine by PayPal, sure made life easier.
The plan is when I win that will be the sign from above for me to retire(Pa is "above" Alabama, I looked at the map). I'm certainly tired of waiting for a sign from my 401k administrator.
I'll then plan to see Jeremy (as I pick up the bike), then off to Texas and Show Low. Hella break in for the twin.

In other news, the jar of raffle tickets is still looking pretty scant. If you've been holding out, what are you waiting for? Give Deb a call at 610 369 3120 x 201 and she'll get you sorted out with some tickets. I'm pulling for you guys, since it means I get a chance to show one of you around my home roads (or deliver the bike to yours!).

I was a little bummed that none of you lot won, but pretty stoked we raised a little over $11K for A Shelter Friend! Considering we started the day off just under $9K, we had a pretty busy day of raffle ticket sales.
Lori was strolling around with camera in hand, I'll upload some of the pictures when I get my hands on the camera! Thanks everyone for contributing! It made me really proud of the Cafe that so many of you participated. Every time Deb mentioned something about an out of state entry, I asked who it was, and it was nearly always one of you. :eusa_clap:
