Good or bad, the scenery through the gorge is slowly changing. I drive through Goldendale WA every week. On one of the highest bluffs a giant wind farm is being erected. A truly amazing project. I'll miss the bare grass foot hills of the gorge.

The Columbia Gorge is one of the most beautiful places in the world IMO. When I lived in Portland I rode the Gorge often in the summer with Goldendale WA a favoured destination.
My favorite way to get there was White Salmon to Klickitat to Goldendale. Great road. Used to be a great lunch place in Trout Lake.

I'll be back and forth to Portland in the next few months seing my Mother. Mostly weekend trips, no bike.
