Funny story here. When I first met my bride of 39 years I was fresh out of the military living in Denver. It was April of 1969 and I working as an engineer for Mountain Bell. I had just moved there from Alaska and had been in town for two weeks. The moving cost, apartment rent and deposit had taxed my budget not to mention the new car I just HAD to have. In other words I didn't have a pot to piss in.

Toni had just graduated from Ohio State and was working her first job as a nurse. Being a spend thrift she not only made good money for the time but had savings in the bank. I on the other hand was living check to check but I had a new 1969 Dodge Dart with all the go fast options. Well we hit it off great from the start but from almost day one I wanted to go back to Alaska.

After working in Denver and dating Toni for the better part of that summer I told her I wanted to go back to Alaska and take her with me. It was the first of July and prime time for travel. We decided we would wait to get married in August in Alaska so I packed up to head back to my beloved Alaska, find a job and a place to live and she would follow in about a month. The trouble is I still didn't have a pot to piss in so she " advanced " me $3000.00 as a nest egg to get there and get settled. Talk about a leap of faith!!!! Well as you know the rest is history and it been the best part of my life.

The story I like to tell is that she married me for her money........
