For those of you who joined me at the previous Orrazaba Mine Trials or Holbrook Trials event, you know I won't let you down!

This will be awesome! Holbrook is even better terrain than Orrazaba, and this is a NATIONAL event! We're not talking just locals this time!

Oh, and this event is even accessible to non-GS riders! Wahoo!

DID I MENTION THIS IS A NATIONAL EVENT?

I've booked my hotel:

Best Western Arizonian Inn
Flagstaff Area
2508 E NAVAJO BLVD
Holbrook, AZ 86025

The Best Western Arizonian Inn is an AAA Three-Diamond property situated approximately 85 miles from Flagstaff Airport and a mile from the Historic Route 66.

$68.40 aaa rate

cancellation by 6pm day of arrival

There are LOTS of hotels in the area, ranging anywhere from $40-90 (Super 8 or Holiday Inn) and some REALLY CHEAP hotels near the train tracks (I caught a lot of crap for that at the last trials event). So, if you want quiet, go for those on Navajo Blvd. The cheap hotels are on Hopi. Our rooms rattled everytime the trains went by - like every 15 minutes. My scotch helped a lot.

I’m going to opt for a 7am meet, 7:15 am departure at the Fountain Hills Shell Station.

It’s about a 3 hour ride, but with stops and gas – some of you experienced riders/captains may know better than me, but I’m hoping we’re in by 11 am, possibly check in to the hotel to dump saddlebags, get lunch, then watch the competition!

Now, I haven’t ridden point with a group yet, so I’m posting directions and if anyone wants to lead, that’s great. I’ve got riders coming from other clubs too.

For the ride back, I’ll say let’s wing it. Last time, some people had commitments and wanted to leave early, some people just stayed for the day, and others wanted to stay late. We can discuss at Saturday dinner.

Directions from Fountain Hills Shell to Best Western Holbrook:

1: Start out going SOUTHEAST on E SHEA BLVD toward AZ-87 S / N BEELINE HWY. 0.4 miles
2: Turn LEFT onto AZ-87 N / BEELINE HWY S. 61.8 miles
3: Turn RIGHT onto AZ-260. 53.8 miles
4: Turn LEFT onto AZ-277. 6.8 miles
5: Turn LEFT onto AZ-377 / DRY LAKE RD. Continue to follow AZ-377.
33.8 miles
6: Turn LEFT onto AZ-77. 3.3 miles
7: AZ-77 becomes I-40 BL / E NAVAJO BLVD. 1.5 miles
8: End at Best Western Inn, 2508 Navajo Blvd, Holbrook, AZ 86025, US

Total Est. Time: 3 hours, 18 minutes Total Est. Distance: 161.72 miles

You bet, camping. Every one could use the shower in the house and we could either cook on the grill for supper and have eggs and other goodies for breakfast. In the house we have a queen size futon that many a BMW riders have slept on.

Damn - I want to get naked at Dean-o's too :eusa_drool:

I have to teach that weekend :( otherwise I would love to get up there. Holbrook is one of my favorite old Route 66 towns - all of you make sure to stop and check out this landmark:

Is that a Tee Pee where you pee pee,
or a Wigwam where you beat your Tom Tom?
