Here's the deal. I'm putting on the bar backs for my ST. However, you need a longer brake line. Its in the kit. I've read on ADV rider about bleeding ABS brakes. I have my own ideas also. Rather than spend a couple of hundred bucks on having the dealer install the barbacks I might give it a go. You do have to have a special tool to remove the brake master cylinder cap. I saw the tool and will fab up my own out of .030 aluminium.
I have not approched the dealer as to cost, but I'd be willing to bet 2 hours at 90.00 an hour. I've also thought about putting on the barbacks in the parking lot and pushing the bike in for the bleed only, I'm leaning towards that, save a little shop labor. I really have not gotten into the brakes yet. Scoping out the servo etc. I have a lot of specialty tools being an aircraft mechanic, pressue bleed kits etc.
So....what do you think...go for it?
BTW, I won't do it until I HAVE explored all the options. I don't want to trailer the bike to the dealer.
