I just got back from Phillip Island to check out the World Supa's...here's my pics.

I was on the road before light to make sure I was there early and get a good pozzie (position)...this was the top of Ringwood...6:30 am.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2125.JPG

This is about a mile before the bridge on to the island.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2126.JPG

This is the bridge on to the island.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2128.JPG

My friend Mick was with me (the red duke) and we stopped for breakfast at the bakery before getting to the track.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2127.JPG

Once at the track we parked under a tree for shade...it was going to be a hot one.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2129.JPG

Here I am getting ready to 'Slip/Slop/Slap'....do you guys know what that means?

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2130.JPG

Next we bought some water..got a good pozzie..and put our feet up.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2131.JPG

GO TROY!!!!...(Bayliss)

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2132.JPG

We were in a great pozzie...right where the bikes come out of the slowest corner..some get on the gas too soon and get spat off..right in front of us.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2134.JPG

The view to our left let us see most of the track.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2133.JPG

Time to check out some of the off track action.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2135.JPG

Heeeey....where there's promo tents there's promo girls.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2136.JPG

I was just about to go in to the promo tent and this guy rolls up on an old Indian Scout...wow!

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2137.JPG

Then once I got in to the promo tent..more wow!!!...another Indian Scout...wowser!!!!!!

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2138.JPG

Yes the worlds fastest Indian...the real thing.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2139.JPG

I was amazed how small it is...it looked like a model plane without wings.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2140.JPG

They had the cover off one side so you could see all the rusty bits.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2141.JPG

There was heaps of other bikes there..the only one that caught my eye was the new naked R1.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2142.JPG

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2143.JPG

I'm back out side and walking around the track waiting for more action to start.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2144.JPG

Action like this.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2145.JPG

I saw this girl ride her bike up to buy a cold beer then ride back to watch the action...cool...see her drink holder.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2146.JPG

Speaking of girls...cooo-weee!...sweet....I love Honda's.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2147.JPG

Talk about sweet...I liked this old duke.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2148.JPG

Aussie,Aussie,Aussie.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2149.JPG

Oye,Oye,Oye.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2150.JPG

There were some classic bikes every where...this one was traveling from Europe.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2151.JPG

I liked this nice new Truno...and it sounded great.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2152.JPG

To one extreme to another..postie bikes are so popular down under.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2153.JPG

This one had a surprise under the rear rack.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2154.JPG

This bike had boobs.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2155.JPG

Can I say that..Boobs..Boobs..Boobs..Boobs...looks like I can.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2156.JPG

And who was the Worlds Fastest Australian today...my mate Troy Bayliss was.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic2158.JPG

One last pic on my way home...another cold drink stop...did I say it was hot.

Great stuff as always DJ!
In the pic of the inside of Burt's Indian 'liner, I was pleased to see that it has been properly "de-restored" back to the way it was when Burt campaigned her. When I saw it, it was all paint, polish & chrome inside. It looked cool but wasn't "right".
DJ, can I come for a short visit, say 2-3 years, and just follow you around?

Thanks guys...Abhijeet...Re that Postie bike..check this out.. http://www.postiebikechallenge.org/postie_bikes.htm

Our mail men and women are employed by Australia Post...we call them posties.

Yes the postie delivers our mail...and they often ride these little Honda motorbikes..(some still ride pushies)..they load them up with mail and ride along the footpath (walkways) and often flat out..so you better watch out if your walking on the footpath... ..:003:

At the big motocross and supercross races they often have a postie bike race...and they're so funny.

We had a guy do a talk at our last BMW meeting about a big postie bike challenge that some of the guys do each year...he was too funny..he also showed pics.

So...that's what a postie bike is.

As far as the slip/slop/slap goes...it's the Australian anti skin care campaign slogan..Slip on a shirt..Slop on some sunscreen..and slap on a hat.

MY profound apologies to this, apparently quite nice, lady. I saw the expression, "Slip, slop, slappin'", with the picture as a "hint" and speculated on what the expression might mean.

Now that DJ has explained , I find my original thoughts were WAY off! (And, it seems, my wife may have a point as to the perverse workings of my mind.)

Thanks boxerboy..I fixed it...not too much sun..I just need to engage brain before putting fingers into gear...I wish spell check would fix errors like that..:003:

Did you notice the word POST on the side of that postie bike was changed to read FAST.
