Any of you junior birdmen out there have any opinions or recommendations for cockpit engine analyzers? I've decided to put one in when we reinstall the engine. So far I'm considering the JPI EDM-700, EDM-800, and EDM-930. The plane came with a JPI Fuel Scan 450 fuel flow computer; the engine analyzers would add EGT and CHT for each cylinder, with other parameters available depending on model such as RPM, MP, OAT, and a host of other nice-to-know stuff. The engine analyzers also record the time history of all of those parameters at anywhere from .1Hz to .5Hz to a memory module that can be dumped out to your PC or PDA.
I've heard that JPI makes good stuff, but their customer service department leaves a bit to be desired. In any case, it sure as hell ain't cheap!
