Looks like, after 45,000 miles on the odometer, it's time for new pads.
Two questions:

After-market pads or a lot less expensive than OEM. Any opinions?
Who wants to put 'em on for me once I get 'em!?!?!:biggrinbounce2: I'll buy the beer!

I'd be happy to help out, Mark. As for OEM vs. aftermarket, I've tried Carbone Lorraine rear brake pads from BeemerBoneYard. They fit and work just fine, and the price was something like half of the OEM price.

Been using EBC HH pads on the R1100RSA for over a decade. Relatively inexpensive, good progressive feel (if bedded in properly) and don't chew up the rotors.

I've used EBC's as well and liked them. If you don't have SS brake lines you may want to do that a the same time.

Mark..
I use EBC pads. How long has it been since the ABS was serviced? If never in 45,000 its time. I'm set up to do it and a lot cheaper than 500 bucks.

In looking online for pads, I have found two types: Sintered Metal and Organic. Not sure which I should use as, from what I'm reading, the Sintered Metal should not be used unless they were on the bike originally. Any way to tell which I have and which I need?

Roger--Brake fluid in each "wheel circuit" was done at the 24,000mi service. I would believe it will be done at the 48,000mi service as well. Not sure what else needs done on that.

I'd go with the organic...eaiser on those 265$ rotors. PM sent on the wheel circuit service. Tech day!!!!!
