That's right, its that time of the year again.
http://www.motorcycleshows.com/

The show dates in Phoenix AZ are October 31-November 2nd. Who's in?
We could do a ride again on Saturday Nov 1st or meet for breakfast then ride over. Suggestions??????? Vulture Mine Road again?

I'm looking forward to it and doing a lot of test rides. Sunday I'm taking the Wife and Friday I'll take the kids.

Ok, now that its Saturday I'm assuming you've not changed our schedule again.:2guns:

I'm up for anyplace for breakfast other than Cracker Barrel. Too hard to find something that doesn't come with gravy....

My dad went to the show today, and was very disappointed compared to other years.

Sunday 0900... I'll be there. Took my Son Saturday, and I agree with Biffs Dad. It's a shadow of years past. BMW is not even there.

HD does have a bunch of Demo bikes. I signed up for a Touring Series Test ride. KTM is there and I signed up to ride an RC8...oh baby.

Thanks for the reports guys. One of my main reasons for going was hopefully to get a look at the new K1300GT. The other reason was breakfast and the Vulture Mine Road ride. I'm much too impulsive to test ride something I'm not ready to buy.

I think I'll have breakfast and ride up toward Flagstaff and see the last of the fall color show.

I wonder if the lack of participation of BMW and Triumph is nationwide or just for the Phoenix show. The deterioration of participants makes me wonder if this is the last we'll see of the show.

Just Phoenix according to the IMS website. Triumph is not going to appear at any.

One good thing, Twisted Throttle is there so I did get to see the Trax bags I want to put on the Tiger. Very, very nice. I was going to put 2 37 liter cases on. Now I'm going with the 45 on the left and the 37 on the right(pipe) side. I hate saying this but they are as nice as the Jesse's at half the cost. When I do get a GS the Trax's will be my choice as well.

As far as test rides, the manufactors offer I'll take them up. Different than a dealer test ride. These bikes have been written off as advertising costs.
I get to ride something I'll never buy.

Heard the same thing from 2 sources besides what was posted here. Spent the money on gas rather than on a show ticket and rode up to Mormon Lake instead. Overcast, windy and very cool. Probably the last time for that ride this year.

After the most recent tune modifications the Rocket is making 117 horsepower and 140 ft lb of torque. But it still gets exactly 40 mpg at cruise. The wonders of O2 sensors and closed loop systems. The bike runs at 13:1 under full throttle but cruises at 14.7:1. Individual air filters and another new tune should go in next week. Supposed to be good for 138/150 at the rear wheel.

My wife and I spent Sunday trying bikes, we had tickets to the show, but were wore out and didn't go inside. I rode everything from Victory, all were nice except for the cruiser w/ the oversized back tire. It wouldn't turn for anything. The Victory Vision is still a great 2-up bike, if you don't have to look at it. Then I rode a Suzuki 109RT, it was a touring/cruiser form of the sport/cruiser 109R. That bike pulled like no other cruiser I have ever ridden. Last but not least, my wife and I rode the Honda Goldwing. I had been wanting to ride the Goldwing ever since I test rode the BMW LT. The Wing has the LT beat in everyway. Roomier, easier slow speed handling, crazy silent torque, and extremely roomy for both rider and pillion. Our ride leader let me open the Wing up from the light and it rockets for a barge. By the third corner I was scraping the pegs. And holy crap, it has like 100 buttons to fiddle w/, how do old people pay attention to the road on the Wing?? :) This was my favorite ride of the day. When I get old, a Goldwing will be in the garage. Until then I still love my RT...

I wanted to ride the Connie 14 and B-King, but both were booked. I also didn't get to ride any HD, but I think Superstition HD has demo days next weekend...

Did anyone ride the KTM race bike?? It looked cool, but I am too large for that bike.

BTW. Tom from Victory said the show sucks because vendors don't like the location!? He said something about the contract w/ the stadium was about to expire and maybe they were going to move it...
