Had the pleasure to meet face to face with New2BMW (Jeff) fand his wife for lunch today. We had a wonderful time, discussed several topics, Japanese way of life and of course, bikes.

The highlight of the day was when we paid a visit to Jeff's MT-01, unfortunately the day was crappy to say the least, however I had the pleasure to straddle Jeff's bike and take it for a short ride around the garage, guys!!!!.......the bike is definitely visceral, and although it appears heavy from the distance actually is quite nimble and pleasant to the eyes. The ergos were great for me and Jeff which is about 6' 1" fit the bike perfectly........I just fell in love right then and there, there will be some pics forthcoming of our short adventure.

The other highlight is that we went to the BMW dealer to check about bike rentals, well guess what:

I can rent just about anything in their stable for 18,000 yen (~$157) for one day or 21,000 yen (~$182) for 2 days plus 300 yen (~$2.65) Optional. Well I've decided on a K1200R and we are planning an outing to some of themount Fuji or another road, which I forget the name which looks like a transplant of Cherohala Highway in the smokies, if you know what I mean, for early March....I can't wait. Jeff and I will also swap rides since he hasn't had the opportunity of riding the naked K bike yet.

Yes, I'm getting the K bike for a two day rental.....Whoa, I'm also looking for something a bit less expensive to have during my stay here......let me download the pics and Jeff and I will post.

Regards to all....site looks really good.......;)

Al,
I'm flattered, but I've already been spoken for. By the way, what do you mean by short?..........

........Oh, I guess you mean that you love the MT. Well, she is already spoken for too.

Saludos,
Jeff

Actually, it was a pleasure to meet Al finally and get to know him a little. Once the weather is better, we'll be exploring some mountain roads here in Japan. (Don't tell Al, but I plan to tap his brain for some of those engineering skills. Surely he won't miss some of it. Its not fair that he has so much and I have so little.)
