This is video of fellow racer Jason Mcvicar crashing his turbo Hayabusa at
240 mph + at Speedweek a few days ago. Jason is alright and came out with almost no injuries. I believe he may have a small fracture on his knee cap. He went to the hospital got checked out and went to dinner with the team later that night.

WOW!! ouch. Glad he is okay. I though, not too bad then the bike caught up to him.

The bike was 8 ft to his left when they stopped. Jason holds the fastest sit-on bike record for an SCTA event at 253 mph.

It's hard to gauge where he is in relation to the bike from the video. I can only imagine what he must have been thinking...

Randy & I were in impound for the last record when Jason made that run. Impound is the closest place you can get to the over-175 MPH "Long Course". He sounded and looked very fast.
Then came the two words any racer hates to hear, especially as punctuation to a hard, fast run at Bonneville..."Rider Down!"
His bike owner & crew were right next to us and it was painful to watch & hear their apprehension, fear & grief, especially coupled with our own. I wanted to say something to them but words seemed inappropriate right then so I stayed back.
Some time later the bike owner, Scott Guthrie was in cell contact with the hospital and learned that Jason was relatively OK, was being released, and would leave the ER under his own power.
The relief we all felt was most tangible, like a cascade of warmth & good feelings. A few tears around, lots of high-fives and now, words were appropriate.
