Sorry, it's not an adventure in exotic, far away places. It's just me having a great time in the mountains.

Mrs. Xracer was kind enough to give X another day to play on his TW. Barnone and I decided that he needed to get across the border into North Carolina and Tennessee.

We met at Smith Powersports in Hayesville, GA where we ogled the bikes for a while.

Once on the road we headed for Murphy, NC, where we took Joe Brown Highway north to TN. We passed Appalachia Lake along the way.

On the way to Tellico Plains, TN, we took the Forest Service road to Buck Bald.

In Tellico Plains we stopped in at TMO to shop around.

Barnone has this irritating habit of wanting to eat. So we detoured into the Tellico Café. We saved y’all a seat.

One of us had the “heart attack” special.

It was getting late in the day and xracer had to get back. As a parting gift, we baptized him with his first ride over the Cherohala Skyway. (next time it will be Deal’s Gap).

TMO is an adventure motorcycle gear and accessory store. The main clothing line is Olympia.

The owner MiniMike, on AdvRider, has been sponsoring a monthly dual sport ride, which I've managed to take advantage of for the last four months.

Dang, jb, I've not been away from that area for a week yet and I miss it already. Looks like you guys had a great ride. Thanks for posting it.

I gave my grandson one last ride out to Deal's Gap this past Tuesday on the Rockster.

The grandsons & I found a great off road riding area 'bout an hour & a half from my place, you might want to check it out with the TW guys. It's steep & rugged, but well maintained by a local 4 wheeler club. We rode there 3 days, it was never crowded, deserted might be a better description, and had zero problems.

Here's link to some photos of the grandsons and the name of the area. I bet your out of town TW guests will like it. I rode it on my DRZ.

(Hope this isn't too much of a hi-jack:icon_redface:)

Arby,

Nice pics of the grandson. I need to wait until I get on a high speed connection before I can follow your link.

I've taken the TW through the Upper Tellico ORV area, but the TW's suspension is not up to the extreme riding necessary to take advantage of such places.

Of course, it may just be the rider. Some TWers are more adventurous than others.

JB,
It looks like you are getting into some serious off roading.

Arby,
Did you show your grandsons that you can still whoop 'em in the dirt?
