I really have very little experience with handguns, but I suspect that this isn't the best double handed grip to use. Would some of you guys mind offering some advice here? I'd appreciate it.

O.K. Now that I've got you here...

The following pics are of our Grandson Brett Bull in his pitching debut for the Citadel.

And he doesn't need a permit to carry his "gun". Oh, he got the out.

The Military College of S.C. looks like they will be contenders in baseball this year.:eusa_clap:

As to the grip - it looks good and solid to me. The proof of the pudding is in the taste. Is she hitting the target? If so, it's the correct grip I'd say.

From the determined look on her face, I don't think I would like her sending lead in my direction.

Good luck with both,
Frank

If her left thumb isn't moving forward on her right hand after she shoots, and that position is what is comfortable for her, I would say that all she should do is keep shooting. If the recoil is powerful enough to alter the hand position between shots, then another handgrip arrangement should be tried. I don't have long enough thumbs to comfortably go over my hand, so I use the "parallel" thumb placement.

Really, the best two-handed grip with handguns is to have one handgun in each hand. As far as self-defense is concerned, seeing someone retaliate against you with two revolvers while she screaming obscenities is one of those things that really can focus your mind on your own mortality while simultaneously evacuating your bowels.

George - I'll bite. I actually was a firearms instructor when I was a hired gun for the State Department. I think she looks pretty good. I would caution Peg on the left thumb. See how she has it all the way over so it's basically touching the "webbing" between ther right thumb and forefinger? This can cause pressure on a tendon in the right hand that can lead to jerking the trigger. Best just to roll that left thumb over to the left a bit, so it is basically pointed right up towards the rear sight.

She also has her elbows almost locked out - good to relax a bit and bend them.

I am a strong Weaver Stance advocate for a whole bunch of reasons but it is a bit complicated for a weekend shooter. If Peg makes the couple of adjustments I suggested she should be comfortable and effective. Another thing on those short barrels - they are not "point of aim - point of impact" beyond literally about 3 yards. On a silhouette, to hit center of mass from 7 yards, she should aim a little high, from 15 yards she should aim right about at the neck, and from 25 yards or more, aiming at the top of the head should get her center of mass. That gun is best fired way up close.

I dunno George, Brett Bull sounds more like a football or hockey player. Middle linebacker comes to mind.

Best of luck to the lad, hope to see him out here in AZ for spring training in a few years.
