View Full Version : Problem with forum upgrade

Hi,
While upgrading the vBulletin forum software, my FTP program crapped out on me because of my old PC config ( I really should get myself a new machine).

Due to this incident, some files were corrupted during transfer to the Cafe server.

In order to restore functionality, I've performed a fresh installation of vBulletin on the server. While this may allow users to post and perform most operations that they are used to, some features such as "emoticons/smileys" may be unavailable.

Other features of the board should be functional.

I am attempting to recover the smileys so that we can go back to our regularly scheduled programming

Please let me know in THIS THREAD if you encounter issues so that I can fix them.

Smileys have been recovered.

The only thing that has not been restored is the spell checker. I do not intend to spend the time to restore it unless someone uses it. If they do, please let me know.

Thanks for your hard work! I didn't know we had a spell checker.......I would use it if fixed, but don't waste time just for me.

Install the Google Tool Bar on your computer and you get a Spell Checker that is quick & easy to use.
Unfortunately it does not help with sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, syntax, etc. !

Scott,
When you type something in the reply/post box and make a spelling mistake, you will see a squiggly line form underneath the word. Right-click the word to get suggestions for corrections.

Where the hell was it when I was in school? Oh yea. :icon_redface:

My Ceci reminded me that they had not invented computers when I was in school. :icon_redface:

Alot she knows, computers were invented, the problem was that they were larger than my schools. :(
