Here goes with my first lot of pictures...I have about 80 pics so I'll post them in three lots...they are small pics and very low resolution.....cool.

Here I am all ready to rock and roll.. :D

There were eight of us...about to head off on three days of riding up to and through the Snowy Mountains of NSW (New South Wales)....but.. :(

Before we got started there was dramas with one of the Ducati's...lucky there was a Ducati dealer just up the road to fix it.. :smt086

Don't you hate it when 15 minutes into a ride someone needs fuel.. :?

After about an hour or so we stopped at the Flowerdale Pub for a cold drink or two.. :smt110

Our next stop was Mansfield...the local cops stopped by to check us out...no problems..

We stopped at the Mountain View Hotel for dinner in the beer garden.

It was getting dark when we left to ride to Beechworth where we arranged accommodation for the night.

We were riding toward Beechworth and there was this amazing sunset..I kept thinking stop and take a pic..when I finally did the colors had almost gone.

That's about it for my pics on day one.

On day two I woke up to another beautiful day...I've never been to Beechworth so while the others were waking up and getting them selves a big cooked breakfast I headed off to check out this famous little town and take some pics.

Here's the post office in the main street.

I had a great breakfast at the local bakery.

Boxerboy told me about this little road with great views that was just nearby...so I checked it out.

I took this pic hoping to show the moon in the distance...yes that fuzzy little dot.

Back in town I found this shop (Mike's Bazaar)...it had all these license plates in the window...I thought of Darth...I know he collects them.

Old cars in the main street..an old EH Holden Panel van (my first car) and a big old Chevrolet truck.

After catching up with the others and heading off our next stop was the Hume Weir (Dam).

Back on the open road heading for those mountains in the distance.

We stopped on this corner and boxerboy told us about his head on with a car here once.

I must apologize for this pic...yes they're everywhere here.

Again...I must apologize for this pic...yes they're also everywhere here.

Ok..here we are getting close the the highest peaks in Australia (and that's where we're headed)

A nice little lookout point...and time for some fun pics...great views.

Boxerboy thought he saw a fire down bellow...so here he is trying to put it out.

Back on the road and approaching Lake Jindabyne.

We fund this nice Pub overlooking the lake...time for more cold drinks.

It's now late afternoon and here's where we stayed the night...a little town called Adaminaby.

Yes..at the bottom of the sign it says...home of the big Trout.

And here it is.

This is where we ate dinner...it was like stepping back in time.

Here we are pigging out on the great food.

I had an Aussie classic...Roast Lamb...and it was so good.

That's about it for my second lot of pics...I'll post the rest tomorrow.

Deej -

Great stuff - keep them coming!

Nice red Ducati - did you get to ride it? I have the exact same bike in yellow. It's a little more "flickable" that the RR, or pretty much anything else on the road!

Your BMWRR is a beauty - and the pics and report are just great!

WOW, Oz is beautiful, looks like parts of California except without the millions of cars.

Bob...no I didn't get a ride...and yes it was nice (the red Duke)...Denise said that he's keen to trade for a new ST4...they sure sound great don't they..:023: :023:

Here's some pics.

I woke up early on the last day of our ride.

I looked at the time and saw that the sun will be up soon so I got up,got dressed and road up the road toward the rising sun to get some nice sunrise pics.

Here they are.

I hope you guys liked my early morning shots...

Here I am back with the others...and looking forward to the cooked breakie that came with the accomadation...and the biggest day of riding ahead.

I have a few more pics from the last days ride...and I'll post them soon.

Thanks Dave...here's the rest of my pics.

Back on the road again...the sky was amazing...jet plane vapor trails everywhere..it must have been just the right temperature or something.

Here comes the quickest bike in the group...yes the Blackbird.

Now the two Ducati's.

I think these trees are snow-gums...it looks like Winter but it's Summer.

Looking down to one of the power station dams.

Here's the dam wall...that's a rider and pillion half way across..(if you look close)

More of those jet stream thingies in the sky.

There were heaps of these cuttings...some through solid rock.

This is one of the few straight bits where you could really fang.

We stopped in this little town for more cold drinks...notice how we all parked under any shade that there was..the weather was perfect.

While we were having lunch another beakster rolled up..I only see about one other beak every 6 months..so I took a pic.

Almost back to Melbourne..this is Bonnie Doon...there's usually heaps of water here...it just show how dry our Summer has been.

Boxerboy and I stopped for another cold drink after splitting from the others...and one last fuel stop.

The bugs were few..but boxerboy got a beauty on the helmet..he said it knocked his head back..I had just sprayed his visor with Mr Sheen..it's great for bugs.

I got a nice one near my left header...I wondered what that smell was.. :D

That's about it for me...I had one last stop on my way home...I sure was hungry..I just wanted to get home..put me feet up..and eat pizza..(with a cold coke).. :003:

Brilliant DJ, thanks for sharing! That black Roadster sure looks tough 'n' fine... one of the most photogenic bikes ever made, IMO. BTW, is "fanging" sort of like twisting the loud handle to the max? :020:

Thanks Capt...I guess it's one of those odd Aussie sayings...I don't hear it used much these days but when I was young we'd go for a fang on our bikes...(fast ride)

...and if we were fanging it we'd be riding fast.

I think it's a motorbike thing because you wouldn't say let's go for a fang in the car....I'm not sure where it comes from...maybe a British saying.

You've just lightened my winter darkness:023:
BTW "fang" is most certainly not a British expression, the only time I've heard it used before today was by the Australian editor of one of the UK bike mags.
Keep safe,
Si

I've just been told by someone (John from Tassie) that fanging has to do with driving like Fangio, or having a fang.....makes sense!:)
