This weekend, Sat 5/17 will be the AMA Formula Extreme race at Infineon, nee Sears Point.
This will be Brian Parriott 's first ride on the San Jose R1200S HP 2 Sport,we have no idea how he will do, but there are some serious players on some very serious bikes in this race.

San Jose's new R1200S HP 2 Sport is ready to go and do battle this comming Saturday. It will be intresting to see how well it will do against the very stiff competition.
Tim sent me these pics last nite.
Notice the list of sponsors on the belly pam.

I think that Chris has as many butterflys comming down to this race as any in his 30 plus year career of fielding racing Beemers.

Dean - The bike looks great! What are the class limits or requirements for the formula extreme?

Scott,
look here: http://www.amaproracing.com/rulebook/
Go to Roadrace and download '2008 rules'. Too lengthy to repeat here, but it's been adjusted over the years to incude Ducati and BMW big twins as well as the original 600 sport bikes based on production machines you can buy at the dealer (homologated).
I'll be at Infineon all weekend. It's 100 degrees today; last week was barely 50, and next week will be cooler as well. Heat makes it more of a challenging race event. I remember a Keith Code school at Sears Point years ago when it was 105F and they ran out of water before the last track session; it was too hot to ride, so we just went home (3 hours away).

Just spoke to Chris, Brian just finished qualifying, he is in the "A" group, (fastest group). Very hot today, above 100F, qualified 12th or 13th at 1:41.01 and another just in the 1:40's. The competition is extremely fast this year, full factory teams with special qualifying tires that can not be bought, tires that Chris can not get.

Are the other teams getting the tires because the factory has relationships with the tire manufacturer? Are the racing tires a spec that all teams get, or will their be a difference there as well?

The qualifying tires are special tires that only the factories can get. From what I understand, the tires used during the race will be normally available racing tires, the same tires that Brian qualified on.

great pictures from everyone. Good to see the team again, Rosa on the back of the scooter enjoying herself!
Congratulations to Brian who is surely a fast, steady, predictable man getting the job done!
Great pics Steve! Somehow I missed the first ones posted until now.
