Dean -
Your post got me to thinking:
Harry, Bob, I am toying with riding down to your neck of the woods to join you in your look see at new bikes. You guys will be more than welcome to ride my ST to get a little taste............
Yes my riding style has grown more conservative with age..........In your dreams................
Let me know when and where and if the Wx holds, I'll be there.

Let's try to do it! We could start out at Victory BMW if you want, - I can bring my R1. From there we can hit AZ Superbikes and Phoenix International Motorsports. I can give you guys turns on the R1 but remember IT IS A MONSTER.
Thusrday this week is the best day for me. Tuesday is also possibility and Wednesday is a remote possibility. Dean - if you want to spend one of the evenings in our guest room you are welcome to, if you don't feel like the ride back to Show Low the same day. Dean if you want we could get Harry and Mrs. Harry over on Thurs afternoon and you could spend the night and we could do a nice barbecue - maybe even webcast it! (Okay - the webcast idea is a little gay - sorry about that...)
Let me know, guys. I'm pretty flexible this week unless I get called to teach MSF (not likely, I just did back to back BRC's) Sunday I leave for a month in DC.

Hey Bob..you can ride my ST anytime ya want, just yell...I may not want to ride a R1 though...unless they take Visa for bail :104:. I have looked at the Remus like Deano has, and they have a power chip for the ST now, but...Remus for now, later for other.
Roger
Hey Rog -
If you want to bring that ST to track day in April I will be happy to prep it for you, get it through tech, and take you around on the proper lines - I think I will be working the street rider group, or one of the corners.. Think about it.
Thursday works for me. As far as Mrs. Harry (Joyce) goes, well, don't count on it. Her interest in all things 2 wheeled is limited to a brief glance when she parks the 3 series and an occasional huff. She has golf lessons on Thursday evening (she doesn't ride, I don't golf, it works out), but I'm sure she'd try to get home in time for the webcast.
If AZSBK calls sooner, I may head over there and check out the ST3. But I think a day spent hitting the shops would be great. It looks like the weather should be good, so Dean, we're expecting you.
Roger, got any sick days comming???

Okay - I am holding Thursday wide open......
Sounds great to me. Lets plan to meet at Victory at a time to be determined by Dean's ability to chip off the ice and get rolling. I think if I was faced with 21 degree temps, I'd be trailering to Globe.
Let us know what you think Dean-O.
Roger, sounds like a vacation day may be in order.

Sounds great guys, I'll come down thru Payson, about 180 miles and as of right now, plan to be at Victory between 9 and 10, long undies, full Kilimanjiro, and Grebings and grips on full blast.

Right now, I'm in..depends on the weather on the east coast. Welcome to the Airline bidness as they say.
Dean, theres a box, I think its Rhinewest. However, I'm exploring the possibilty of downloading the computer on the bike with a laptop and adjusting the parameters. Need to query the onboard computer and get with a software guy to write the code.
Between 9 and 10 at Victory on Thurs.

Be assured that has been tried. The Motronic encoding is not straight foward in the least so as to preclude any type of copying and or modifying. A bunch of Silicon Valley Boffins have attempted to do such, with out any sucess.

GEEEZZZ, it was 14.7 F up here this morning, hope it is a little warmer Thursday morning.........................................
14.7 :omg:
I'm hoping that the temps climb over 60 before I have to brave the 10 mile ride up to Victory.
You're a braver man than I Gunga Dean. :eusa_clap:

You guys are both disturbing...........
Well, make sure the coffee is HOT, 180 mile ride, I plan to leave here between 6 and 6:30 in the morning. At 6 this morning.................it was 9.7, 60 down in the valley will be like a heat wave.

I'm only 60 miles from Victory. Dean, your my hero, willing to ride 180 miles to meet us scallyways. Right now I'm at work, its 0505 and I've been here an hour, little chilly on the way to work. Not 9.7 however.
My Director is going to be here, so It'll be tight getting there you know how the honchos are, hope he does not want to have a meeting, that'll screw up the plan.

Well guys, at 6:09 this morning, .............it is 7.4 F outside, it has been below 8 F for an hour now :104: :104: Mz Pam and I have both decided it is just too cold. Perhaps if I had an RT I could make it, but up here it is 100 miles to the closest civilization of any size, either Payson or Globe/Miami. There is no traffic on these mountain roads in the mornings so I have decided to cancel. As much as I hate to, all my gear is at the ready....grrrr...grrrr  What is so sad is that it will be easily in the 50's today up here.
Damn.............was looking foward to seeing Rogers new ST and the Gay Moles R1. Have no fear, we will do it again, you guys have fun.:embarassed:

Dean-O -
Just looked at the outside thermometer and it is 45!
Sorry we won't see you, but let's do it in April - I am in DC all of March. Also, I will try to set up the ERC for the beginning of April because Jeff Dean will be here for the Ironman and I can get him cornered for an afternoon.
Probably a good call not to ride in the single digits! Take care, Bob
Sorry you can't make it Dean, but I absolutely understand. Hell, when I ride in 40 degree temps, I have to put up with the whimpering noises inside my helmet.
Throw another log on the fire, and stay warm. Its supposed to hit the low 70's this afternoon, so I expect to be shutting the heated grips off around noon.

Bob, Harry.....I can't get that Ducati Paul Smart retro off my mind it was gorgeous....do you think it'd look good in the garage next to the ST?
Question is....how long will the wife make me sleep with it?

Glad you guys had such a great time :icon_cry: I really wanted to ride down, Mz Pam is happy that I did not ride in the BURRRRRR cold.
We will definitely have an Arizona get together.
HMMMM..... we could have an overniter in Alpine...Great roads all over.:lightbulb: :003: :045: :rose: :rose: :023: :030: :026:  :077: ;) :note: :note2: :teeth: :031:
You missed a good time Dean-O, but I wouldn't have even been considering a ride like that.
AZ Superbike's new shop on Arizona Ave is like a big candy store. Between the new retro Ducatis, and the $35,000 race bike replicas, Aprillas, Moto Guzzis, and the new Triumph Scrambler there was something for everybody.
I test rode a new GS at Victory. Probably a big mistake. At this point I'm planning on holding Jeff responsible for the suggestion. It was a hoot.
