Apparently F800GS arrival moved up a little, to July/August. The original single cylinder F650GS will come back before the end of the year, but will be called G650GS, because the "F650GS" name is used (misused) for the "decontented" F800GS.

So far, no change in prices.

Cool, thanks Dean. I'm glad they're keeping the single. I'll bet, though, that they're kicking themselves for naming the decontented bike "F650GS", and I wouldn't be surprised if it were renamed later... to something like "F800CS", for "Classic Sports".

Dean,

Thanks for the info.

Although all I can think is .... BMW dumbasses.

Edit: pardon me for expressing my feelings so bluntly, but it seems BMW has had more than ample time to plan their marketing strategy and naming convention.

Errr I believe they are saying that the "650GS" is really an 800. Why, I don't know. But I pretty sure that is what it is.

The F650GS is the detuned 800cc twin, G650GS is the new nomenclature for the returning single.

"English is my third language."

I do know what you mean, English is my fourth language. During WW2, we were beaten if we spoke any of our other languages (other than English of course), this was because we snuck into the country through Cuba. I skipped Kindergarden and was sent to first grade, however, they were going to send me to "special school" because while I understood the questions they asked me, I didn't know what language I was answering in - so I kept quiet. I knew that if I answered in the "wrong language" I was in big trouble. So mostly I kept quiet.

However I seemed to of survived. Being that this was during WW2, lots of kids brought to the states had similar problems. Thank God my grandfather was smart enough to take the family to the United States. I must also say thank you to Cuba for accepting us in and giving us passports so we could go to the United States.
