In mid January you don't see 55 F often. Even better is had rained a couple of times the days before. I left a little early and took a nice ride.
I fly rc airplanes and visited the field. As it was windy and late in the day no one was flying but here is a pic of the field.

Tipstall,
Cool you got out for a ride. Saw the title of your post, wasn't sure if that was warm or cold for this time of year:cool: .
More important for you Northern guys I would think is the lack of ice & cinders & stuff on the road. I don't mind riding here in LA when its cold, well cold for here, anyway. In some ways its easier to bundle up against the cold than to stay cool when its hot.
I had to drive the truck into work today to charge some GPS batteries I had at home. Was such a nice day I went home at lunch & picked up the bike. Can't recall the last day I had to drive to work.:)

Ken - Glad you were able to get the bike out - what a rare treat in January!:)
I hate to rub it in, but 55F was our overnight low last night. Getting ready for track day tomorrow....

Thanks for the pic. Tried to consider a ride yesterday, as it was near 60, but there was a ton of salt on the road, so no way. Today is cold and rainy. Glad someone could get out.

Bugger this! It's amazing out here in Milwaukee right now. Battery's dead......new battery not arrived yet. I'm going to my room to sulk! ;)

It was great when I left. I rode home at dusk and the temp went down quick. Grips on high, light winter gloves on and I still had 2 fingers, throttle hand, that froze. The roads seemed to weep water at dusk and I had a very busy off champer (?spelling?) turn that I took like a baby to be safe. When I stoped I put my boots down and it felt like ice.
It was a great ride to get out and I have no problem with the conditions. I will post pictures in the spring when planes are flying.
