"I wish I new how those things were made."

They are very much like a cartoon on TV. A number of shots, one after the other to give the impression of movement. The BMW one has four separate drawings.

I just took this one apart for you. I'll send via e-mail the shots - I saved them in gif. I'm afraid you will not be impressed. :icon_cry:

Stinkin" Frank

PS; I did send you a message to obtain your e-mail address. After looking at the different pictures, I found that only the Cylinders are different pictures - four of them.

They're not hard, but they can be tedious. For a while, I was into it. The good software I had for it (Ulead) is now on a backup disk from when my hard drive was replaced. They're animated GIFs, a GIF being an image format more size efficient than JPEGs. The GIF format allows multiple images to be strung together, making for a cheap "movie." They're web friendly.

If you're capable of making images on photoshop or whatever image software program, you can save individual images and piece them together and adjust the timing in a GIF animating software. Microsoft GIF Animator is free. The fancier ones, like Ulead, will do re-sizing and a lot of other stuff in a friendlier format. The boxer image in that avatar looks like a re-sized version of a much larger animated GIF I've seen of the motor only.

The disturbing (to some), but true genesis of the BMW horizontally-opposed twin (aka "Phlat-Tu") engine and, of course, the animated avatar.

Dave, the Maytag never lost momentum from a bad antenna ring.

And has the "bullet-proof for over 100 years" V-belt final drive...
