Has Ducati yet admitted to even building this bike yet? I realize they used mostly off-the-shelf parts other than the plastic bits, but with Ducati it takes forever to actually ship production bikes to the dealers. Any info you can pass on? That bike would be a tough choice vs. the 950 SM, which isn't as pretty, but goes & stops like stink. Can I say stink?

I've had my ear close to the ground on this one and Ducati has all but admitted this bike is coming out as a late 2007 or early 2008 model. I've heard the "Base" model should be pretty much as seen (minus the magnessium stuff) and in the $11K-$12K, the dealer also expects a 620 version and a tricked out S version at some point. :eusa_drool:

I won't lie. The Hypermotrad gives me a chubby. :031:

I'm totally in lust with it. It has had the same effect on me that certain nubile girls had back in college. I'd be so distract thinking about ways to wind 'em up and fling them about that I'd have to tag 'em and bag 'em so I could think straight.

Well, now I've tag'd the 'Tard. Can't wait to start flinging it about.

I'm in the same "boat", Jason. I've ridden the KTM 950 SM, and it is EVERYTHING I'd hoped it would be, and more. It almost makes me want to trade my Duke II in, but that's going to be a tough sell. The Ducati looks like it will be as nice, I just hope it is quick (and stays air-cooled), and isn't too heavy. The pricepoints will have to be $8500 or so for the 620, $12,xxx for the "standard", and who knows for the SP version. The HP BMW is ridiculously priced, the KTM 950 Super Enduro is only up in the $14k range. Times are getting fun, again.

I have to admit to not being too big a fan of the way most off road bikes look. Although I am envious of my friend Bjorn's GS1150 Adventure and the size of the frikkin gas tank he has! There is something about the Duc trellis frame though that gets my attention. Pretty sweet move Jason!

I will admit that I am thinking about putting down money on a K1200S at the end of this riding season. I too am lusting after a harem of bikes.

Jason...that's a BEAUTIFUL motorcycle, and I won't lie..it gives me enough wood to build a really big boat. :037:
Dude, we want to hear ALL about it. Be cool though. That looks like its got a cop magnet built right in.

That is the coolest, prettiest, "cleanest", sexiest production bike I have *ever* seen! A true Woddie-Mobile.
Gord - This is not really an off-road or even dual sport bike. It's pure pavement and looks like the most fun you could have with your clothes on!

I second Darth's opinion, thats one nice bike. Look at the treatment of the rear exhaust & rear end. Too bad BMW couldn't do that on the new S. Ducati seems to get it right most of the time.

I really like the looks of the new Ducati SportClassic. Hopefully BMW will do as well with the new RR.
