Unfortunately, the knobby tires and heated grips are on my snowblower. Just got in from removing 8" of snow from my driveway.
Speaking of snow, I really lucked out, finishing the prebuy/annual inspection on the plane and getting it into my hangar on Friday afternoon. Since the groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter, and there were a few soft cylinders on the compression check, my A&P and I are pulling the engine and sending it out for overhaul. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Here's the new addition to the family; we'll finish up the paperwork and close the deal this week.

Cool!
I've got over 200 jumps, most of them out of 182's & 172's, with some more...umm, "unusual" birds along the way.
Great planes but I never could understand why anyone would want to actually *land* in one of them though...seems dangerous to me!?

Mark,
Nice 182, (the N number is a big giveaway). How does the panel look? I think the 182 is the perfect plane for me and would love to get together with a couple people and buy one. Ok for short trips and good for medium long trip, with only 4 people in the family.

The panel has a ton of bells and whistles. It has a "Basic T" instrument layout that was put in back in 2000 with all new instruments (some of those pre-70's panels look like the instruments got loaded into a shotgun and fired at the panel). It has an S-TEC System 30 2-axis autopilot w/ heading, nav, and altitude hold, a Garmin GMA340 audio panel w/ 3-light marker beacon & 4-place intercom, a Garmin GNS430 GPS/COM/VOR/LOC/GS coupled to the S-TEC autopilot, a Garmin GNC250 VFR GPS/COM for the second radio, a Garmin GTX330 Mode S Transponder with TIS Traffic piped into the GNS430 display, a Bendix/King Moving Map/GPS display, a fuel flow computer, a carb temperature gauge, and vernier-style engine controls. Compared to the beaters I did my IFR training in, this will be the lap of luxury.

Wow, Mark, what a panel, if you ever get lost, they should take away all your toys.
