Just got back from a jaunt through a local MC shop and finally got to see the new Kawasaki 650 (in black). Obviously, our MC tastes evolve over time. I was once (not that long ago, I might add) easily seduced by lots and lots of power. Now, I find that bikes that make a lot less power but still get up and go are much more appealing.

Having sat on the new 650, I have to say , I think this will be a very, very nice bike for the street. The finish work is a full step up from the Suzuki SV650, which is what everyone is saying this bike will compete with. The small semi fairing fits and is laid out very well. The ergos are very nice. The bike feels light as a feather. The esthetic lines are quite nice. Kudos to Kawasaki.

Anyone actually ridden one of these yet?

Odd, I was just perusing the review in Cycle World of this very bike. Looks good and is below $7K. Might be a better 'round towner than the 1150r, but I'm fresh out of cash at the moment. Gotta say, it is a nice looking ride though.

That is the bike. It really looks great in both Silver and Black.
